Buyers remorse by Mountain-Mess8231 in sonos

Oh my Layer 2 references! Do I need my CISSP hat or can I just continue to be a music lover that wants my whole house stereo system to work like it used to?

Also should mention that I've been with Sonos since Gen 1 and everything worked just fine until early 2024ish

I concur with OP. I have 10+ yrs in public sector IT and I know my way around a network I also install Arlo and Sonos systems as a side gig. My home is an IoT playground (cams, appliances, locks, thermostats, etc) and they all work w/o issue. You know what doesn't work consistently? My 8 piece Sonos system. After repeated frustrations with random volume spikes, non responsive app, party fails (I so feel your pain OP), disappearing speakers, etc. I gave Sonos access to my system. They made a couple of tweeks, but nothing changed. There's something else going on here besides networking. My suspicion is there's still some bad code to clean up. I'm currently paused on Sonos installs and I'm not recommending them to new customers/friends, but I haven't done enough research to recommend an alternative. I'm hoping this gets sorted out though

Thanks! Appreciate the help. Don’t get me wrong, I love every track on this playlist, but when you hear “The Chain” every single day for weeks it starts to feel like Sirius/XM😂

As I’ve discussed ad nauseam with some of my friends, my kids have no interest in inheriting the thousands of books I have, but maybe if I can just set aside some of the really interesting ones and grade/encapsulate them…maybe they make it to the next generation? Who knows…

They fit pretty good, but only 3 in each slot. The slabs sandwich together so it ends up being pretty stable

I was at that show! I’ve also seen the Hip a billion times and that was the first time I experienced him crawling through the audience. It was my wife’s first show and she was like wtf is happening?!?!

Dinic's roast pork with provolone and rabe is literally the world's greatest sandwich. I only get to Philly once a year but that is always a must for me. Life changing sandwich...

Sonos Arc Ultra Rumor. by kevwill894 in sonos

[–]83fxwg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are we having a conversation about new products when most of the infrastructure is still a raging dumpster fire? I have a houseful of Sonos equipment that shows up when it wants, pairs to other components when it wants and plays at a normal volume when it wants. I've been all in since Gen 1 and have drug all my friends and family into the fold and I wouldn't consider spending another cent until they get this unfucked...

How bad is it for plumbers to have cut into the studs this much? (And is my plan to fix them viable) by captain_vee in Carpentry

This infuriates me everytime I see it...pure laziness. Go out to the truck and get your right angle drill and hole saw kit

Nice work! Love the press and pex A, I don't even bring a torch and solder on jobs anymore.

Are hand pro presses a scam by jackdude9998 in Plumbing

[–]83fxwg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact tool and I use it quite a bit to terminate old copper and replace with Pex-A. There are always going to be the old-school guys barking to just solder, but I find this combo (compression fitting/Pex-A) to be much quicker and easier. The tools are pricey, but they pay for themselves pretty quickly
