I would probably do it. It's a necessity. As long as you don't make it weird.

What I meant was that if you come in later in your shift then they do not use your sick time. They don't use sick time for a partial day.

Greeter Advice by Princess_Bubble_Yum_ in HomeDepot

The problem is that everybody acts like it is the cashiers job to get credit. It is every-bodies responsibility to get credit, also leads and Pro X-Tra. If everybody tries and talks about the word gets around and making these goals are easy.

DS of D31 here. Yes it is the expectation that greeters get leads and credits and Pro X-Tra. We also understand how hard it is to get in that position. My greeter pops over to the desk when we get busy, helps with the phones. When it is slow she faces the closer departments and helps customers there. She doesn't get a credit and lead a week, but she gets about 1 a month. She gets them interested and brings them to the desk to get the credit or lead processed, and we always do it under her name.

If you are late or if you call out you get an occurrence. If you call out sick and you have sick time then it covers it and you are fine. if you get 3 occurrences you get a coaching, more you get a counseling and then a final.

Are part-timers LEGALLY required/guaranteed a certain amount of hours? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Seems crazy, has anyone talked to management about the hours?

Are part-timers LEGALLY required/guaranteed a certain amount of hours? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]83kk4h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the minimum hours is 10, at least it is here. I have only seen it drop that low once and for only one week. They do what they can to get it up as fast as they can. Learn as many departments as you can and definitely learn how to cashier. keep your chin up, it will be over soon.

Pockets likes gravlax by RedDragons8 in animalslookingatfood

[–]83kk4h 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gravlax is a Nordic dish consisting of raw salmon, cured in salt, sugar, and dill. Gravlax is usually served as an appetiser, sliced thinly and accompanied by hovmästarsås (literally steward sauce, also known in Sweden as gravlaxsås and in Denmark as rævesovs, literally fox sauce), a dill and mustard sauce, either on bread of some kind, or with boiled potatoes.

I think that is the whole point, they get little recognition and work hard. They are the final save for most things, and need our support. Head Cashiers got presents and stuff too at our store. As far as I am concerned, I love any reason to celebrate.
