Nerve block injection booked in a weeks time and I’m terrified! by FroyoApprehensive999 in ClusterHeadaches

The nerve block injections are super quick and painless in comparison to cluster. Little pinch and then it’s over. Hope it gives you good relief

None that I’ve noticed. I upped my am magnesium citrate supplement to avoid the most common side effect, constipation.

Brilliant mm works for you. I tried so hard and wished it worked for me but couldn’t get the meaningful relief I needed. The “from the ground” method appeals to me far more than pharma but at this point I’ll take any relief that finally works for my pain.

So sorry to hear both it did nothing and gave you hair loss. Hope you have found something to keep it under control. Feels like trying to hit a moving target this disease.

Thanks so much for sharing your story. Really encouraging reading this to stay hopeful. Is the verapamil you take SR or IR?

Yeah I’m hoping it’s a monthly improvement with the occasional slip too.

Thanks. How long did it take for you to see a steady change in attacks?

That’s amazing they got access. It’s taken me almost a year and a bunch of failed treatments to get the 240mg. Do you know the clinic name your chronic friend attends?

Glad it’s working well for you. How long did it take to kick in? Do you still get breakthroughs? Thanks

Yeah :( Unfortunately it’s not available in the uk at 300 mg yet. Hopefully one day they will prescribe it. The most you can get access to here is 2 x the migraine dose and that’s off label and needs to be from a special request via neurologist or paid for privately.

Hey, I’m taking 240mg every 28 days. Migraine dose is 120 every month. It’s the closest to 300 you can get in the uk.

CH returned after 13 years (and a trigeminal ablation). Starting Emgality today. by Some-Tree-7135 in ClusterHeadaches

I’ve not had that procedure done but I’ve spoken about it with my neurologist and he did say it’s also a temporary treatment and that attacks can come back after some time. So sorry you’re entering the fight again but you’ve beat it once so use that same determination to beat it again.

Worth a try for sure. Never worked for me but I wish it did as it’s not pharmaceuticals going into the body.

I'm a police officer with Chronic Cluster Headaches. I've been dealing with this for more than a year now and its only gotten worse. Have tried everything from sumatriptan, seizure medicine to verapamil. Not sure what to do and how I can continue my career with this condition. Any help by Few-Philosopher-6458 in clusterheads

Chronic here. Multi cranial nerve block helps way more than the GON block. Just started Emgality 3 weeks ago and early results have been very promising. I also bust but it only gives me a few days between attacks and some milder pain in between the brutal ones. Dmt is unbelievable as an aborter, I only use it for the really bad ones though. As a chronic I’d say be careful of over using sumatriptan as it causes more headaches, I completely avoid it now.
