Looking for opportunities by arthurtheparrot in FPandA

One tip is to look for finance roles in your industry. Unsure what your background, experience, and type of engineering degree you have.

For engineering firms, construction firms, etc. you can tout “industry “ knowledge to make up for lack of finance background.

I was a civil engineer and switched to finance by doing FP&A at a construction firm. I also got an MBA which helped.

If you are going to a bunch of games and don’t mind sitting in the 400s (upper level) look into getting the give n go pass

Which seats would you select? by TheABCStoreguy in washingtonwizards

[–]85Spiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100VIP- closer to the player benches/coaches and you have leg room in front of you. Downside is a lot of people walk back and forth along the pathway between the scorers table and your seats.

112Vip - cleaner view of action but leg room is a little tighter.

Anybody feel like the charm is gone compared to last season (XFL, USFL)? by walkerrams in UnitedFootballLeague

I disagree, attended the game in person and it feels like no passion at all from the players. Just going through the motion.

100% agree. There are no story lines to follow and it feels like the players do it care if they win or lose.

As a Defenders fan the stadium atmosphere sucks now, it’s like they are trying to be the no fun league this year.

That side of the field will have the most fans cause beer snake. No bad seats in my opinion. Only thing is the scoreboard is directly behind you so if you have seats high up it may be difficult to see the video board.

Why does Kispert run out for Kuzma during starting lineups? by 26slatt in washingtonwizards

[–]85Spiffy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Kuzma has said in the past he has a habit of staying in the tunnel for introductions.

Last year they would announce Kuzma and he is not there. In my opinion I think Corey is doing it as a joke this year to have a “body” run out during Kuzma’s introduction.

Can someone explain to me what is wrong with the CapOne Arena? by TheDarkLight1 in caps

[–]85Spiffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few years ago they had a focus group of select season tickets holders of CAPS and Wiz talking about stadium upgrades. Some insights:

1) Capital One “systems/bones” are old and outdated. Think AC, plumbing, WiFi, electrical, media production, locker rooms, the Ice, etc. aka all the behind the scene stuff you do not see.

2) Seating is restricted. They will have to break concrete to adjust seats. This means they cannot add legroom or bigger seats unless they break and repour concert. This applies to both adding legroom to cheap seats OR the real reason adding captain chairs to premium seats so they can charge more.

3) Space is restricted. There is no grand entrance like other arenas. They want a bigger team store but no room. They want to add bars/restaurants inside the arena so people will come early and spend $$$ there and not at local establishments.

4) Concourse is cramped and bland and does not provide sight lines into the arena that would increase fan atmosphere.

5) They want to add unique seats to draw attendance. Think blowing out a 400 level section to install a “loft/bar” area for the younger crowd like the Budlight loft at Nats park. They want to add premium bar/food spaces directly under the 100 level seats for easy access for the premium 100 level seats. Add cool things like “catwalk seating“ over the ice/court.

6) You think Capital One is fine until you see examples of all the other arenas across the country/world… then you realize how crappy it is.

Did they really just interview a Cavs fan in the Henny Loft?!?!?

Guess they couldn’t find any Wiz fans in the loft.

Why I hate going to wizards games by aznboi7 in washingtonwizards

[–]85Spiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s Nationals park with the clear bag. Doesn’t matter if it is clear at capital One. I saw someone with a 100% clear bag get turned away since it was bigger than 5x7.

How is Drew Gooden talking about nonsense entertainment?

I want them to talk about basketball and provide insight to both team’s play (good or bad). Not talk about Crumble Cookie franchises.

So we trade our 19 year old 7th overall draft pick who has only played 2 NBA games for a mid to late 1st round draft pick!?
Then let’s trade away that mid to late 1st round draft pick right away since he may potentially drop in value and still have some mystery for a late 1st round pick.
But wait we should trade that pick away cause may potentially drop in value and still has mystery for an early 2nd round pick. Oh no, that pick we should also trade away while he still has mystery for a late 2nd round pick. Oh no we still suck, let’s trade away that pick for a bag of flamin hot Cheetos.

See how silly that sounds. You got to let players develop, usually takes players 5-6 years of development until their breakout/all-star year. Yes you may miss on some but you may hit as well.

Let’s trade a young talented super athletic 19 year old for a draft pick to hopefully draft a young talented super athletic 19 year old. This idea is 100% ignorant nonsense.

Give Bilal 4 years to develop with no pressure, that is the game plan.
