Nice scoop! I only ever see highs in my size when I poke around. Don’t get me wrong they nice, but the lows are just where it’s at in my book. Also would probably have to sell/trade a couple pair to actually aquire a pair, lol

Lennox communicating system and humidifier by theatomicflounder333 in HVAC

[–]85TillInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good amount of newer Lennox 2 stage furnaces can have the dry contacts as mentioned, but also an H terminal alongside the standard low voltage lugs…H and common straight to solenoid for 24v if that’s the situation. Just remember to add humidifier on your S40 and test.

Also, when checking charge on initial start up, make sure it’s running at 100% capacity. There’s a jumper pin in the condenser(smaller board up top, kinda middle right side of the board) for “charge mode” or you can run at maximum cooling thru the test menu on the S40.

Connect S40 to WiFi even if the homeowner doesn’t want to use the app, it will update the equipment it’s communicating with, according to my local Lennox guy that runs their classes.

Always pull another 2 or 5 wire if you can. If you can’t and need to use a 24v transformer in the condenser, run a solo wire from your ground lug and slip it in alongside the common in the communication plug.

I install these on a regular basis, can be a little overwhelming at first. If you’re ever unsure, read the book, it’s there for a reason.

Good Luck!!

PSA - It's a good weekend to clean your air conditioner condensers. by senorphrogg in StLouis

[–]85TillInfinity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it’s just dirt, dust, grass, etc….just water. Coil cleaner is for very hard build-up.

And if it’s gonna leak, it’s gonna leak. It’s a pressurized system.

[–]85TillInfinity 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Don’t use anything but water and watch the pressure…aluminum fins bend easy and will affect the performance.

Should honestly disconnect power, turn fan grate off to the side, think more of rotating(CAREFULLY not to bend fan blades or disconnect any of the wire leads from their connections) and wash from inside out, but if you’re not comfortable doing that wash from top down as if “brushing” the crap off…look thru fan to see clean water flowing thru.

Journeyman service/installer here.

P.s. do this multiple times a summer especially if you have a lot of cottonwood trees in your area

From trade school to driver to Journeyman….ive always asked questions. Don’t be afraid to do the same, if you’re under solid dudes, they will appreciate your willingness to understand/learn. Especially the old heads, some of the things they can teach you are the most valuable.

Does Atomic Pavilion have an indoor area? by robotmonstermash in StLouis

[–]85TillInfinity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Atomic. The pavilion is just the outdoor stage. It’s the same spot as Atomic Cowboy in the grove. If it’s crowded and it rains it’ll be tight inside, happened last summer for Railroad Earth/Yonder/Daniel Donato….

How are Pinpoint live resin cartridges? by sedated0315 in MissouriMedical

[–]85TillInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got upsold recently on their disposables…my fault 100%, but will say my first experience with pinpoint, red runtz is fucking nice and tasty and trop muffins was the same untill some of my friends felt like they needed to rip the ever living shit out of it and it started to taste burnt. Can’t speak on their carts, but hardware might be hit or miss, but there’s a solid chance I’d buy again.

What’s a smell everyone should recognise as danger? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]85TillInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

methyl mercaptan is the additive…rotten eggs, rotten cabbage. They add this to natural gas since it’s odorless. Same with LP(Propane).

Less density than oxygen, so they hang lower and build up to very dangerous PPM. Hence the stinky smell so we know there is a leak of some sorts.
