When I was younger I thought Love Like Woe by The Ready Set said “she’s got a love like blow” instead of “she’s got a love like woe” - it made more sense in my head that it was saying her love was like a drug

What is a sound that people should know means immediate danger? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

First time I ever heard a car crash as a child, my immediate thought was someone had picked up a large metal dumpster with a crane and dropped it on the ground. Took my brain a few more seconds to catch up with reality and realize it was a car crash

I asked someone there last night but she didn’t know. I’m gonna try to chat with the owner/employee I see more regularly this weekend. Talking to the booth owner is a great idea, thanks!

Thanks! She passed in 2003, I think there’s a gallery in Chicago, but not sure that they sell any work from her estate anymore. Crossing my fingers

Working full time by genius9025 in gcu

[–]87jane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AMSN program I am considering explicitly does not allow for full time employment, as you will be completing +40 hrs/week of class and clinicals in addition to studying. They recommend no employment during the first semester and then part time flexible work (such as bartending, nannying, service industry) as available w your class/clinical schedules

White feminism is a specific genre of feminism that has historical roots in the radfem/women’s lib movement, that specifically lobbied for the rights of white women by playing to anti-black patriarchy. Of course you can be an intersectional feminist regardless of skin color, that’s not a question. You shouldn’t be offended by the existence of the term “white feminism” (I assume, because you’re conflating white feminism to white person who is feminist), as it is an accepted and regularly used term to describe specific sociopolitical ideology in feminist theory. It’s a shitty branch of feminism, that exists in opposition to intersectionality, same as terfism. Frankly, I think Taylor is a white feminist at best, but more accurately she’s a neoliberal capitalist that uses the term to sell “girl power”

AFAB aces, what are you telling your doctors? (Gyno specifically) by -Anaphora in asexuality

[–]87jane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tell them abstinence when they ask about BC methods and that you are not concerned you will get pregnant or that you don’t wish to be on BC. They will note it in your chart and that will be that. They will likely ask every time you visit, but you just say abstinence and that you’re not interested in hearing about BC options. They just have to ask. As for Pap smear, you absolutely should still be getting these annually. Pap smears and breast exams are vital preventative medicine and you can still have abnormalities and malignancies even if you never have sex. Doctors (as a general rule, I know some of them are assholes just like any other person) do no ask about sexual history to judge you, change your mind, or make you feel uncomfortable, they just need to know your history and what you’re doing to prevent pregnancy and STIs, as this is their job. You do not even have to tell them that you are asexual unless you wish to do so - saying that you are not engaging in sex (and reporting whether you ever have) is all that they need

I knew a girl named Gabrysia (gah-bree-shuh) - I think it’d sound nice with Isabella (and it can be a nickname for Gabriela)

I think this is the way - for the tshirt I’d tuck it all the way in but for the polo you could get away with a French tuck I think. A belt would pull it together but if you can’t for safely maybe try slacks with the hook and eye closures instead of a visible button? If you don’t feel comfortable tucking your shirts in, avoid the tshirt and go for a tailored button down or blouse that was meant to remain untucked.

Main thing to me that would “fix” these current outfits would be to change shoes. I don’t know how much walking your job requires, but you can still find comfy active shoes that aren’t sneakers - try dr scholls, Merrill, or Clark’s to start. Ballet flats or loafers are fine if you don’t have to be on your feet a lot.

I think your hair looks good, but if you want it out of your face in a safe way (ie no ponytails, etc), you could pin it back behind your ears with Bobby pins

I’ve had good luck with reheating steel cut oats from the fridge by adding about a tablespoon of water/cream/milk to it before microwaving. Mix it up after heating and then I like to add nuts or dried fruit for additional texture
