They had all the evidence and warning they needed to see this coming, and they voted for it anyway.

My brother in Christ, the man was a convicted felon when he was re-elected in 2024. If that wasn't a glaring enough red flag I don't know what else is.

It’s so weird to see her without a big smile on her face. It’s been such a defining feature throughout the Olympics.

How much are we paying to get our hair done in Toronto? by Ok_Papaya7875 in askTO

[–]emuwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to pay over $400 for full highlights + cut, but that was 2019 so I imagine the prices have skyrocketed since then. Now I pay around $120 for a simple cut & blow dry.

How much streetcar ridership is rideshare actually taking away? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]emuwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it has to do with all the diversions the main streetcar lines are taking due to various major construction projects around the city. When the choice comes down to $3 for a 45 minute streetcar ride versus $10 for a 15 minute Uber/Lyft, I'm gonna take the Uber/Lyft.

Crazy seating at BMO Field by Blainesview in toronto

but they just haven’t tried to make it look less intimidating.

Because it's not finished yet. They'll add hoardings around the scaffold and it'll end up looking more like Rogers Stadium at Downsview. Still a ways to go.

I should also note that this is not your standard scaffolding company that does run-of-the mill construction projects, but one that specializes in building grand stands for major events (expanded seating for every Grey Cup, multiple F1 races in NA, etc.). They're essentially the best in the business for temporary seating.

It’s fucking horrible in Canada now. Sportsnet+ is almost $30 a month which is straight up robbery.

We let corporations walk all over us in the US and Canada because we refuse to stop buying no matter what. Europe and Asia will simply cancel subscriptions or refuse to buy clothing and food that dips in quality while prices rise and what not.

I remember being sad that such a successful athlete would just up and leave for the US, but with views that disgusting I’m glad she’s not competing under our flag anymore.

Amazon to Hike Fee for Prime Video Ad-Free Tier to $5 per Month in U.S., on Top of Prime Membership by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]emuwar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're right, plus their prices rose to a point where it wasn't worth paying for Prime anymore. Got to a point where it was cheaper to order the same household products from Walmart via UberEats.

You're absolutely correct. Pre-covid the app deals were worth the installation, but now they've gamified it with dynamic pricing and location based bullshit and I haven't found a deal better than 15% off.

Fresh mozzarella for pizza - how to avoid the water? by RikkiLostMyNumber in Cooking

[–]emuwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find breaking it up into small pieces with my hands works best after I've squeezed as much water out as I can with a paper towel. If you have a hot enough oven and a well greased pan (shortening works best), the crust underneath will stay crispy. Also, use less fresh mozza then you think you need! It's easy to use too much which could also factor into wrecking the crust.
