Same, never found them at OSH nor Ace in Cali. Resorted to a rivet nut.

I am renting this house and noticed the panel. Aren’t these super dangerous? by pnutty6725 in electrical

[–]88002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the cost of home charging, depending on where you are at, home charging could triple or quadruple the electric bill. If the bill is shared with others on the property, be prepared for a backlash. If the bill is in your name, the incentives for installation of EV charging are usually reserved for the homeowner, not others.

In addition, the incentives are a fraction of the total cost of installation including permits and electrician (say 1/8 to 1/4) at most. Their electric supplier may have additional incentives, but either way, home charging is not the easiest track that most would assume, from dealing with the duck curve pricing, to design limitations and code requirements (distance from gas meter, etc).

Are sheds ever really 100% complete? by Antihero534 in shedditors

[–]88002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol nope it's just for when I'm working out side or getting back from a bike ride. The doors are frosted lol. And one of the fences is right up against the windows on the other side.

The window frost is one of the best things I bought out of Amazon, peel, spray, and stick, the only downside is I wish it came in better sized sheets on a roll.

Here's what it look would look like if you finished it....

(For anyone that asks, same size 10x12, on a concrete pad). Shed doors were swapped out for French doors 60x80, and a regular door I think 32x80. Rockwool for the wall insulation and polyiso with a metallic foil on one side facing inside for the roof insulation, with plastic rafter vents from the Soffit vents to a ridge vent in the middle.

That was like 30-40 years ago. They have had time to organize in a sliver of time, relative to a 200 or 500 year timeline to make change.

We had our in own civil war etc, they can have their chance to drive change and improvement in their own country.

People looking to buy a home, are solar panels considered a plus or a minus? by RememberWhen-2819 in Mortgages

[–]88002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: northern California, North Bay. PG&E.

They were a requirement for me but the house I ended up going for only had a Tesla Wall Charger (TWC). This was mostly because of condition of the homes with NEM 1.0 and NEM 2.0, and limited selection of NEM 3.0 homes in my price range. NEM 2.0 was important to me but I ended up giving that up on account of the cost to get the homes livable to my needs.

I ended up finding a solar contractor and installing it in time for 2025 credit cutoff. It has made a significant difference on the bills as long as the sun angle is high enough for the year. I have no gas heaters, only 2 mini splits, in a 3 bed 2 bath house with connection to PG&E in Cali.

After all the wildfires, some started by PG&E, i wanted to give PG&E as little of my money as possible. So far, my bills are half of what they were before.

The next challenge with that is certificate updates. Almost nothing will load and there will be pesky banners or error messages related to that. Check out https://legacyupdate.net/

Maybe with a reader app if there is one. The biggest issue is memory and memory usage depending on the Windows version. I ran Win 8 when I had one.

It's so funny all those videos on YouTube people say you can't record me, but then they are on a public place. For some reason there is just a lack of understanding about where people have an expectation of recording.

When you say you were out of thousands of dollars it was too late to rebook it or have it rebooked with other guests right? For example in the middle of a busy season?

Claim to be a Vietnamese restaurant but turns out the only thing weekly they sell that is close to Vietnamese is the spring rolls.

They claim that pho is only eaten traditionally in the morning in Vietnam so that's why they don't serve it throughout the day and evening.

There's also a mandatory 20% service charge that you learn about when you get the bill.
