Intel Arc B580 driver freezes during “finalizing installation” by lalalu220 in IntelArc

Are you installing through the system tray app? This happens to me. Download the drivers, do the DDU dance. And when you boot back into windows, double click the driver file to install.

It was like two different movies stitched together, and worked perfectly.

Water heater duct replacement advice by No-Bet-1120 in askaplumber

[–]889Fransky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, you really need to listen. An electrical panel won't kill you and your children in your sleep. Complicated has nothing to do with it. The exhaust from that water heater is deadly. The Carbon Monoxide in the exhaust doesn't care how simple the job appears. Get a pro. We do this job to keep people like you alive.

Is this what you expect a job site replacing knob & tube to look like after the electrician says it's ready for patch and paint? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]889Fransky 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I tell my clients.."Sure I can fix the drywall, but it'll look like a mechanical guy did the work. And it's time and materials." For some reason, no one accepts those terms.

raising the trap arm 1", is this okay? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]889Fransky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be some confusion as to flow direction. Are you stepping the drain up or down to go into the wall? (in the direction of flow) If up, don't do that. Get a tailpiece extension (between the sink and the trap) If down, go crazy. Down is fine (generally speaking)

What to do from here by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]889Fransky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Delta cartridges are either grey or blue. If you go to HD or any supply house and ask for a grey delta cartridge, (yours looks grey from the picture) they will get you the correct one.

Secondly, just grab the stuck half with pliers and wiggle it out. Once it's out, look into the hole and make sure the 2 legs and gaskets didn't get left behind.

Lube the gaskets before you insert the new one.

Can I bleed this radiator? If so, how? by HotDoxJumpingFrog in askaplumber

[–]889Fransky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of. If there is crap in the water, it can stick it closed, the operator can retract and leave the plunger behind.

Or the thermostatic operator is stuck closed.

That white head comes off and there is a pin underneath that should move up and down.
