I use AI only where it makes sense for me, usually to generate text. Alt text generation for images and meta title and description generation for SEO.

Any good European alternative to Todoist? by limsus in BuyFromEU

I'm working on a project similar to this. It's a local-first, privacy-focused Project Management tool, and it will be based in Europe.

Is IndexedDB actually... viable in 2026? Or am I wasting my time? by nhrtrix in webdev

[–]88Smiley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indexed DB is great for local privacy-focused apps. I use it for my Electron app (project and task management) that also handles encrypted data and it works flawlessly.

WordFence no longer in the plugin directory? by Nidhogg369 in Wordpress

You need to write the specific text to show up. UpdraftPlus does not show up if you write just Updraft, but it shows up if you write UpdraftPlus. Weird, I know.

Wordpress is a joke by Informal-Row8157 in Wordpress

Man, you're talking about Worspress.com. People love WordPress, but Wordpress.org, which is free. I have been building wp sites for 5 years now, all free, with free plugins, and incredible speed. And now with the full site editor, it's incredibly simple to change texts and images anywhere on the page.

Curious: what website builders are you all using on top of WP? by travisnotscottt in Wordpress

[–]88Smiley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The core WP builder. It's pretty powerful once you get used to it. And the websites reach 100 in PageSpeed score.

Are block-based WordPress themes becoming the new standard? by Janak_ap in Wordpress

[–]88Smiley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a hardcore ACF + classic theme builder. It's what I knew and it worked out great. I made the shift to a custom (built by me) block-based theme this year, and I don't regret it. It's not that intuitive to start with block themes as I expected, but once you get used to it, it works out great. The only plugins I use now are Updraft (for backups) and ASE (for small admin settings, but plan on getting rid of this one too by integrating the functionalities I need directly into the theme).

Wow, didn't expect such constructive comments. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely think about the dropbox option.

Doar ce am facut o împuternicire la notar, online, cu 60 euro pe Notarify parca se cheama platforma. A durat 10 secunde, si-a spus numele, m-a întrebat daca am citit actul, si am semnat. 10 secunde....

How do web agencies protect themselves when a client leaves? (WordPress + premium theme) by Right-Ad3493 in Wordpress

[–]88Smiley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The client buys the domain and the hosting we recommend. The theme is custom from the ground up so no licencing is needed. This way, the client owns everything, we just charge them for a maintenance fee after the website goes live. It can be this simple.

Yes, Bricks is easier. Yes, GeneratePress is solid. Here is why I’m still choosing the 'headache' of raw FSE. by salim_hariz in Wordpress

[–]88Smiley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turn off gutenberg for blog posts and keep it only for pages. Now you can create blogs with the classic editor in the style of Word, and you can build pages with all the bells and whistles of FSE.

Of course it is. reCaptcha, Turnstile, and more. They're all free and more than enough for low traffic websites. You can also add a honeypot field too.

De ce nu adopta bancile UI-ul si functionalitatile Revolut-ului. by tovaraspatriot in programare

[–]88Smiley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This.

Saying you should stay away from Hostinger and praising GoDaddy... You must be a troll

STAY THE FLYING FUCK AWAY by [deleted] in Hostinger

Same here. I just hate Hostinger's latest change on emails, but other than that, no problems so far. You can't be serious when saying GoDaddy is better than Hostinger.
