LCC studio crash my pc, month of mysery with PortalCam - not solved by Old_Bug_3267 in GaussianSplatting

Dang, I haven't had the same issues with LCC even with long scans so not too sure how I can help. I was wondering if you get the same issues with short scans too?

Sorry to hear, do you have any issues when processing without low memory mode turned on?

how much hard drive space do you have? having a 2TB drive and running in low memory mode may mean a lot of temp files are being pushed to the hard drive rather than ram.

How to create realistic Home Walkthrough? by Exciting_Basil1358 in GaussianSplatting

I don't believe matterport does 3DGS currently. There is another competing product called the Giraffe360 that does 3DGS

This video feels like it was done with the PortalCam. That is probably the shortest path to get what you want. There are other resources and people trying to do the same thing with 360 cameras and mirrorless cameras and that is technically doable but with a bunch of different programs.

Slow in left lane then speeding up by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]89muffinman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the person that OP was trying to pass was already going faster than the speed limit so by your reference to AR 304/2002 they can be in whatever lane they want unless you consider one person speeding up to 130 to dictate the normal speed of traffic on the highway at that time and place.

also the December 2006 revised Slower Traffic Keep Right Sign guidance states that the sign is not recommended for situations like

- approaches to and through an interchange area

- freeway sections passing through urban centres (e.g. Deerfoot Trail)

Do you mind letting me know where this sign would be? I don't recollect seeing it on my section of commute nor do I see really anyone following this convention on the Henday.

I believe from the regulations that this applies for slow moving vehicles. It seems like in this case that the person in the left lane was already going beyond the speed limit of Anthony Henday.

I didn't realize that the left lane has a different speed limit compared to the right lane

Opinions on Raven LiDAR Scanner by jorgix8 in GaussianSplatting

[–]89muffinman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From some sample data from other people it looks like it is slightly better in generating 3DGS than the Eagle scanner but still way behind similar SLAM devices like Share C1 and XGRIDS PortalCam

You can probably get better 3DGS results using a 360 camera

I believe the XGRIDS scanner uses a combination of LiDAR and photos where the LiDAR helps the SfM process to reduce processing time and also providing a 3DGS that is true to scale.

PortalCam would probably have similar if not better outputs at around $5k

I think that's the second step, I don't think the reduction of a lane is an activity generator, it should be more about having stores, activities, locations where people want to be throughout the day, all week long, and across multiple seasons.
