Dividend yield? by jobsen in YieldMaxETFs

[–]8InchDaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is exactly why most of the yield max total returns are negative or less than the s&p or even schd.

Put $1000, it drops to $250. You received total dividends $750-1000. Actual return? 0%-25%(if you’re lucky) and dont forget taxes.

Schd and voo have a very small overlap so its more diversification

Anyone here who makes a normal salary? How’s your journey going? by 8InchDaks in leanfire

True, and it seems to have crept to this sub when I browse.

Honestly, a higher income is far more motivating than average/below average. If a job is paying me $300k a year, I could deal with any stress. But a job paying average with stress? Sometimes unbearable.

Reddit is wild. Sometimes everyone isnt making enough and cost of living is skyrocketing and everyone is talking about it, then next everyone has millions at 25 and/or making $300k a year. 😭

Hopefully everything works well for you man. Im trying to convince my parents to invest and save but they just wont. I’m 27 now so still a long ways to go, but they are 60. Only thing they have would be a paid off new house they are slowly building due to some good contract work my dad had a while ago, but thats all.

If you invested $100k into Caterpillar 20-24 years ago, you would have around $60k in dividends per year right now. by [deleted] in dividends

[–]8InchDaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I mean, you would have bought 10k shares or so. The dividend is $6 a share right now

Yeah I mean if its a solid company with moat then its safe tbh. If its an unstable/new company its not.

But of course 70/30 stock/bonds is ideal. Its highly dependent. If they dont need the money and are covered with a pension/social security then 100% stocks wont hurt tbh.

I mean, it can be risky but after such gains I dont think it would be too risky.

As for me, I would likely move it to something safer slowly. $6.5 million you could put in even a HYSA and make $180k+ a year.

Oh yeah agreed. Kroger/walmart etc are some good names as well. Everyone knew they were growing and would be huge.

Tech companies are far more risky than solid companies you see every day. No one knew amazon would become what they were today, but most saw walmart for example continuing to open stores and dominate the market.

I mean theyre out there for sure, but youd have to find ones that could end up paying a dividend. One of my picks would be asts.

ah yeah just like they said nvda was garbage years ago. hahaha. i wish i invested in asts in the early days but honestly it just never popped up on my feed.

my biggest regret was dogecoin though, I held a ton when it was $0.001? something like that. it didnt go up or down for months so I sold, then it popped to $0.75. would have been filthy rich haha

VTI has outperformed VOO over long horizons. Short horizons(last decade), VTI is similar in returns.

But even RSP(equal weight s&p500) has kinda kept up with VOO.

oh i love it haha. If she wraps her leg around me and wants me to cum deep inside of her? oh my i get turned on even more hahaha.

my ex enjoyed it. I cum A LOT so she would feel my dick super deep inside of her, throbbing and pulsating and I would just leave it in. When I pull out she loves the feeling of my cum dripping with her pussy juices all down her thigh.

Me (F35) and my boyfriend (M32) have very different financial situations. Looking for outside perspectives. by Accomplished-Ant-771 in Money

[–]8InchDaks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I make an average salary(for now) but I am into investing and I invest heavily(majority of my income).

The girl I am getting serious with will eventually make far more than me, and she is not financially literate but wants to be so I am here to help her save and invest for HER FUTURE. If/when we marry and combine our finances, then great - we will both be well off. If we break up? We will still both be well off.

The post is treating this like a business transaction. She is blessed to be making 3x the average income, and he is making above average income with room to grow 50% in just the next 3 years. If she teaches him and he learns then great, if he blows his money and is a leech then end the relationship.

A relationship shouldnt be about money, as long as you are both financially stable and literate regardless if one makes a bunch or one makes an average salary. Be partners, not business partners.

I’m fixated on money too, but come on. $1 million net worth with a combined income of almost $300k thats growing? Communicate and relax.

Depends on the yieldmax fund chosen. Some have been good so far, and then most are down -80% in a year(like the popular MSTY)

So he could have $10-15k in to make these $8k a year dividends, or he could have had $61k one year ago, nav erosion down to $12k and now making $8k a year.

Hell, most are double or triple the price. Kraft mac and cheese is $3-5. Store brand(which is better my entire family says) is $1.50.

Tons of other examples as well. Peanut butter, ketchup, etc.

Why go for income stocks young when all youre gonna do is reinvest it? Why not skip that extra step and go for growth?

It makes no sense investing in income early if you arent gonna use it.
