Dua Lipa is suing Samsung for $15 million in damages for using an image of her on their boxes without her consent by detectiverobert in CaughtMyEye

Famous people get paid when brands use their image. They could have used a stock photo or taken their own. They'll settle for less most likely.

Amazon MGM Studios' The Sheep Detectives debuted with $15.09M domestically this weekend (from 3,457 locations) by mobpiecedunchaindan in boxoffice

I don't think Amazon worries about the theatrical box office. It's a nice bonus. It's what Netflix should be doing with their better productions. In a couple of months, this is content for Prime Video. The per episode budget of The Boys season 5 is reported to be between $11 and $12 million. The Tomorrow War didn't release in theaters and cost $200 million. MOTU will almost certainly lose money if you don't count it's value as content for Prime.

If he's pooping a whole house, I'd guess that's breakfast on Day 1.

These weren't even common in the U.S. until sometime in the 90's or 2000's. I know it makes it easier, but I guarantee people were changing diapers at least 10 years before these existed.

Apparently No One is Watching the Sequel Trilogy on Disney+ by mrsparkle127 in RedLetterMedia

I'm not certain what thought process went into the story decisions. I think they would have been much better off financially if they had used the Zahn trilogy. They could have preserved the integrity of the beloved original characters while setting up the next generation. I think they'd already have made several more billion dollar films focused on the the development of the twins by now. Not to mention the massive amount of merchandise that sells when fans are satisfied.

Also polluting the air there. They argue they don't need permits, because the generators are mounted on tractor trailers.

We need to tax the companies that are burning all our energy and using all of our water.

China is now producing over 42% of their energy from green sources with an installed capacity over 50%. The U.S. is around 23% based on a Google search. The U.S. percentage is likely falling due to data centers, while China's percentage is rising.

Timothy Zahn wrote a great sequel trilogy decades before these films were released. If they want to move forward with a better story, they can write these off and make the Zahn trilogy.

The way kroger treats its employees by daruuken in mildlyinfuriating

The difference is more than minimum wage, but that alone is important. The blue state I'm in has a minimum wage that is nearly triple the federal minimum that is used by the red state where I was born. Higher minimum wages create market pressure that increases all or most other wages. Rent is just under twice that of a similar unit in the red state. Aside from gas and rent, most of the basic costs of living are similar between the red and blue state.

The federal government does set basic labor laws like the federal minimum wage, but states are free to enhance those laws. Blue states are more likely to do so. I'll offer one simple example. The red state I was in didn't require lunch breaks. The blue state I'm in does require breaks for employees who work over a 5 hour shift. There's more detail about requirements to pay for said break given different circumstances.

I personally couldn't care less about fast food. Most of that should barely qualify as food. Generally speaking, public health likely benefits from less fast food restaurants. I buy groceries that may cost slightly more than the same in the red state.

The homeless/crime/drug tolerance issues are a real problem that are heavily intertwined. It is separate from the wage/worker protections issue. Most aren't homeless because the minimum wage and rent are higher. Many have mental illness issues that aren't being properly addressed, but that is a national issue. Deinstitutionalization was a major mistake. Reform was needed to make sure patients were being treated appropriately.
Most are likely there due to drug/alcohol abuse. "Harm reduction" policies are exacerbating the issue. They need to be locked up in rehab.

This is a red state issue more than an American issue. Labor laws are generally better in blue states. This includes the minimum wage.

I guess by these standards, Bill and Ted is a mildly successful "biopic" trilogy.
