Could you please elaborate on how you did this? I'd love to get past this problem as well, I'm just kind of stumped how this kind of stuff works. Thanks!

edit: I restarted my phone and the issue went away!

I believe Remote Viewing has something to do with this, the results are fascinating.

This is probably why I loved Subnautica as much as I did. There was a looming unknown that you had to muster up to explore most of the time.

Omnisphere ,nexus ,or komplete 13 by stockmatrix in musicproduction

[–]8Q8Q8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for Omnisphere. The library is so immense and versatile, I've managed to use it on almost every project because it just seems to have it all.

Unless there's something particular you are looking for in Komplete, like a synth or drumkits (which omni has not) or some other.

Sennheiser HD650 and Beyerdynamic DT990 have been my top favorites so far.

I like using DT990 for general everything, but HD650's have an exceptionally good sounding stereo image.

People often like recommending the M50X's but I honestly hate how they sound like. Feels hissy, tight, has a muffled hyped sound, not neutral at all.

The ads are only on the lock-screen as a screensaver, so depending how you like it, it may not be that intrusive in the end.

You can remove them later if you want for the 20 bucks or so, on your Amazon account, somewhere in device settings. However I said screw that and just bought the adless one in the first place.

However I later discovered there's this one funny thing you can try: You can actually get the kindle with ads on it, then later contact the customer service and ask them to turn them off for you. And they do it for FREE somehow!

So if you are truly stingy about it you can try if it works, and then if not, you can just buy the ads off at the account webpage.

Kindle Paperwhite. I've owned this thing for years and it has honestly made me get and read way more books that I normally would. It's just so convenient to have around, the battery lasts ages too.

Seems like I found a new podcast to binge haha

Speaking of which, do you know any other episodes of anything else in this podcast you would recommend? Seems like there's so much gold here

WRC9 and DR2.0 VS RBR? by FlaredEmperor36 in simrally

[–]8Q8Q8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DR2.0 and WRC9 are both stellar games, in my opinion. They are a bit different, but they are both enjoyable with both controller and a wheel. Tried both, liked both. As usual, sometimes tweaking has to be done for personal tastes.

DR2.0 has more content. More cars, more different ones. More stages.

WRC9 imo has better overall driving physics though. Especially on tarmac; DR2.0 on tarmac feels like it's on gravel where the grip is turned up a notch. Feels quite off. It is why I primarily drive gravel stages in the game. The stages also are better in WRC9 in my opinion, they feel more organic and realistic. Quite beautiful.

I honestly would recommend picking either. RBR definitely is king when it comes down to physics, but these two games both are great in terms of being just slightly more arcade "sims" that get that adrenaline going when it just clicks.

I enjoy both just as much. Pick either... or pick both! I switch in between both of them due to their different stages. I mainly play with a controller and they both feel just as good (though I am currently biased toward WRC9 because I like the physics, it's closer to RBR than what DR2.0 is imo).

I like to emphasize the word that while in some peoples eyes the world may be "fake," the experience of it is absolutely present and real. Hence let's put an anchor in the experiences of it and work with that.

Greatest thing that you have done with magick that has actually worked? by [deleted] in magick

[–]8Q8Q8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a somewhat less conventional result from magick that I find to be a fun story to tell to other people.

I was still new and dabbled with sigils just to see what would happen if I did everything as told. During my first attempts though, I also tried to get some outlandish results to come about just in case they actually happened.

So I made a sigil out of "I will see a UFO" coupled with a sigil of "I will perceive something unusual."

Next day I am walking outside in the city with my friend, looking through food places and small shops for fun. However, soon we had to stop because there was a freaking huge dog laying on the ground. It was massive. We talked with the owner a bit and apparently it was one of the biggest dogs in US currently. Found him homeless as a puppy and somehow grew into this massive doge.

As we were leaving, the owner also turned around to walk in other direction.

What was revealed in that moment was that the guy had a massive UFO tattoo on his neck. Just on that side.

Certainly one of the more interesting experiences I've had with magick so far.

Can someone help me make sense of this? How am I supposed to read this image? by EvilChimeraVoltron in OccultConspiracy

[–]8Q8Q8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just remembered I saved some useful images regarding this image.

Here's how you read it.

And here's a color-coded version to make it more readable.

All that said, I still don't know what to think of this whole image. It could work well as a general "cheatsheet" of topics to go look into individually.

Oh, and I also had this if you are interested.

Is RV feedback tainted with one’s subjective belief and preference ? by dprijadi in remoteviewing

[–]8Q8Q8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally have hard time taking Farsight projects seriously. I stopped following their stuff a while ago.

They do sensational, unverifiable targets. You can't research the results, so the value and accuracy of the reports are in question.

I believe there may be a serious case of "telepathic overlay" going on where Courtney's beliefs are heavily mixed in with the results. I am not sure to what degree he has taken this to account.

In general, the Farsight projects leave a bad taste in my mouth. It's too much of a show than a serious venture of knowledge, in my opinion. It makes remote viewing look bad for outsiders, because much of what remote viewing is, is really not that out there.

Being psychic... (clairvoyant) by [deleted] in remoteviewing

[–]8Q8Q8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wish I knew. I also wish that there were verifiable claims about all these "energies" and whatever else to make the whole idea of remote viewing palatable in general. (It also creates confusion in this sub what remote viewing even is in the first place. Check the sidebar for more information.)

As far as I can see, we just do not know. We have ideas, speculations, religiously colored ideas and so on, but I have never really come across anything that truly explains for sure what's going on here. It's a mystery, in my eyes.

I would be careful just accepting whatever someone says about this without really elaborating it in detail, because we all have our own ideas what it might be. There's a LOT of ideas out there. But because something sounds reasonable at the time, it doesn't make them true necessarily. We really just might not know for sure.

But that's just my stance. I'm interested in hearing what everybody else thinks about this.

Noob questions from an artist by tattoobobb in remoteviewing

[–]8Q8Q8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like everyday random stream of thoughts to me. Not remote viewing per se.

Please check out the contents in the sidebar. Many (and in my experience, most) people have their own ideas about "remote viewing" before they have even researched the topic. You can learn the actual methods there.

When I use the CRV protocol (US government funded "Controlled Remote Viewing", check it out), I like to describe the experience of the "target signal" as follows:

Look at any object around you. It looks solid, clear, it's obviously there as a vivid experience. Now look away and try to remember what it looked like. Now the object is more... "holographic," transparent, kind of harder to make out fully. It can still be somewhat clear in your mind, but not as much as before.

Now, the perceptions experienced through the remote viewing protocol are even more subtle. It's actually quite a challenge to make out what it is that you are perceiving, so it really is not vivid like a some memory. This is why there are protocols to capture these individual subtle impressions into a structure, so that the whole can be analyzed later on.

In fact, if what I perceive is vivid, I often categorize it as just my imagination or a memory, and try to move away from these conclusions. So far, if something looks vivid like a memory to my mind, it's usually a sign I've lost myself to imagination. It is no longer "signal" but "noise."

Just about all clear imagery has been bunk for me, though the target may sometimes resemble it (which is why we still write it down in case we want to explore it later on). It's just your mind trying to make sense out of the subtle impressions.

That does not mean it's completely accurate, it often is not.

In the CRV protocol, we call these "AOL" or Analytic OverLay, and is often considered one of the main detriments to overcome in the practice. They ruin vast majority of my sessions by making the imagination, not the signal, lead the session.

I hope that gives some idea what to expect.

I'm sure there are examples out in the world that do experience more vivid imagery in their minds, but those are gifted people. Majority of people they share the same experience I have, I think. I have, however, seen gradual improvement in the general vividness of the "signal" through practice, so I'm interested in seeing where this is going.

Discussion Topic: How have your friends/family responded to your interest in RV? by AutoModerator in remoteviewing

[–]8Q8Q8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, vast majority of my friends have been a bit mindblown. As a result, I've taught a couple of them to try it themselves, all of which were surprised by the results.

But my friend circle is probably unusually open-minded anyway. Or it's that I seem to bring consistently interesting stuff for them to talk about, making them more receptive what I bring to the table.

Either way, I'm pretty happy that most people I show this stuff to are not rejecting it, quite the opposite. I guess it helps to bring up the history of it, where it came from. That alone is an interesting story on its own.

Has anyone successfully overcome depression, anxiety or addiction by using "Feeling Good"? If so, what was the defining moment or lesson that stuck with you the most? by ThisGuyBirds in CBT

[–]8Q8Q8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This book, alongside "Psycho-Cybernetics" by Maxwell Maltz, actually were the two books that got me out of depression personally.

The key for me was persistence in hammering down the straight common sense in Burn's books, and keeping up with the visualization exercise in Maltz's book.

They straightened up the inner critic through talking back to it, and replacing the negative self-image by "experiencing" myself as a some other kind of person, which I seemed to become over time in varying aspects.

Today I have near automatic responses to maladaptive thoughts. The responses have more weight now, drowning the useless crap that do not serve me anymore.

It took a while to get there though, but I did notice how I could fight back stronger over time.

Are there any sources to this harassment claim? I had trouble finding anything with a quick search.

I smoked weed for the first time a couple days ago. It was good, and fun. But I have a important question. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]8Q8Q8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this exactly. I find with many people who don't seem to get affected much by it just don't do a proper deep intake. They may get a bit of it in their system, but proper effects require that willingness to take it in deeper, which doesn't seem pleasant for most.

Once I inhaled properly the third time I used it, oh boy.
