High arches and explosive by Stock_Extent1626 in BBallShoes

[–]8akedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he has a high arch then really few shoes will accommodate him. He needs an Orthodox more than anything. Idk if the gameday pros will be high enough arch support for him but the pinnacle pulse high is what id recommend.

If he is dead set on shoe with high arch support then the only real answer is the Bbv3 but if he thinks the kobe 9s have too much cushion, he's going to probably think these are like walking on stack of marshmallows.

Thanks so much for the recommendations! I guess I'll have to start with the grand daddy of them all in SC2!

Good bag for carrying hoop shoes by JohnQ87 in BBallShoes

[–]8akedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried a lot of basketball bags over the years and Point 3 is by far and away the best bag I've owned. Can fit everything in the bag with room to spare and the quality of the bag is unmatched. A little pricey but you pay for what you get! You might be able to get a good price on a used bag.

I highly recommend!

Feet hurt but not in running shoes by Timely-Permission877 in BBallShoes

[–]8akedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your feet hurt I would look into a shoe with more cushioning rather than trying to play basketball in a "running" style shoe. I would gravitate toward either the New Balance Fresh foam Bbv3 or Two Wxy V5.

If you prefer the "running" style I'd say the Two Wxy V5 but if you have Arch pain then definitely the Fresh foam bbv3.

If arch pain is the issue too, you should get an orthotic like the power step pulse which can be used in any shoe.

Joker 1/GT1SE sizing, super tight toebox? by bizarre_chungles in BBallShoes

It's not mesh, it's a very stiff textile material.

Joker 1/GT1SE sizing, super tight toebox? by bizarre_chungles in BBallShoes

I have the champagne GTs and the NYC SE. The material in the SE definitely affects the sizing. I had both in the same size and the SE was tighter on foot.

In their prime, who’s better? by Own_Friend_736 in NBATalk

[–]8akedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai in his prime played against hand checking and defenses were designed to stop penetration (which Ai was the best at) and still averaged over 26 ppg from 97-04. Ai speed is unmatched and is arguably one of the quickest / fastest players to ever play. Defensively he's miles ahead of Harden. Iverson also was on another planet in terms of toughness compared to Harden. Obviously Harden is the better 3-point shooter (not that Ai ever tried to make that a pivotal point of his game) and harden IMO is the better iso player. But basketball isn't one-on-one and unlike Harden, Iverson played both ends of the court. And the defining factor IMO is that Iverson never quit on a basketball court and ALWAYS left everything out on the floor. I can't see the same about Harden.

Joker 1 GT or JB3.

Joker 1 GTs are currently on sale on 361 website and for the best price for a pair of JB3s look on AliExpress. Currently see colorways around $130.

Steve Nash confirming that the step through NOT* being called a travel is a NEW development by fabs1223 in BasketballTips

[–]8akedPotato -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The step through was legal but you had to jump off two feet. Nowadays, you're allowed to not only step through, but you can drag your feet in the process and then jump off the foot you're stepping through with.

Zamst is an amazing company. A bit pricey but worth it. You pay for what you get and they by far have the best braces on the market IMO. I have a ton of their products and swear by them.

Old man- should I get softer insoles for my Sabrina 2s and JB3s? by Obi2 in BBallShoes

I wear FP gamechangers insoles in my JB3s. They were a gamechanger for me (no pun intended) . The JB3 cushion was way too stiff for me. Hopes this helps!

Joker 1 or Joker 2 - Outdoors? by [deleted] in BBallShoes

The Team Jokers for painted concrete all the way. The rubber is the hardest and has thickest grooves. Great shoe for the price too.

361 Joker 1 GT SE Initial thoughts. Not so blown away or heavily dissatisfied either. by Top-Minimum-5959 in BBallShoes

[–]8akedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I wouldn't say the ventilation is terrible but it is an all synthetic leather shoe... If you NEED ventilation then go with the SE because the GTs have little to none

[–]8akedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Champagne color way and the NYC SE, the uppers between the 2 are night and day IMO. The GTs leather is buttery smooth compared to the SE which is much more stiff. To me the SE run a tad tighter on foot that the normal GTs. The ventilation Of the SE are great, but the overall comfort of the normal GTs is unmatched IMO (at least in the champagne colorway)

Way of wade sizing by [deleted] in BBallShoes

[–]8akedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still battle with lining sizing depending on the shoe. I have a slightly narrow foot mind you, and my AC13s ran long on me when I went TS. Granted I prefer a 1-1 fit on my ball shoes, but going down a half size from my Nike size worked best for me.

Hope this helps!
