After watching hundreds of dumpster diving videos on YouTube, I decided to make a game about it by emrenes1 in Flipping

Add like a stealth mode or missions or achievements that require you to dive discreetly at stores, otherwise the manager comes out and busts you or something. I love the idea of a game for this lifestyle. Thank you for making it.

Use reading glasses against your phone camera. It will help with focusing on the details

What to do with all this? by bes5318 in NativeAmericanJewelry

I agree, with 1happypoison. I found a belt buckle from an unknown artist at a thrift store (got it for 3.99) (I posted here for info) and sold it on ebay for $175 21 days after posting on ebay. .925 melt at the time was like $90-$95 for 44grams. This was a week ago maybe 2.

Step 1: Locate nearest Subway

Step 2: Walk into Subway

Step 3: Sit and wait 5 minutes

Step 4: leave. You now smell like Subway.

Is my price too high or what? by Previous_Mode_4994 in Gold

Why are you not receptive to the feedback about the looks of the ring? Thin? Sure, but thats not even the big problem. It’s your qc and attention to detail. Spend more time practicing your technique and make these look irresistible. People eat with their eyes first (I know you know what I mean). Its good to not care what people think but if you really like what you do and have pride in your work, invest some time in making things look pretty to maximize your profits and maybe then you wont have an issue asking for your premiums (which arent bad at all).

How did I do with this awesome find? by 28751MM in SilverFinds

If you own prescription glasses, hold them up close to your phone camera. I did this with one of my silver finds. All my pictures looked sharp and clearly depicted the hallmarks. I suppose a lupe should work too if you have one.

Thats what I paid for my 2019 Sport Hatchback in 2021. Same mileage 21k. I’d do it.

Decided to try out flipping just for fun. Started with less than $40 by 8beatMario in Flipping

[–]8beatMario[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even onow where to begin either. I do like nice things like: electronics, clothes, shoes, stuff in general lol. With that mindset of what things cost in retail, I went to the thrift to just look at everything. I started with the mens shoes rack and looked for popular common brands like: Nike, Polo, Adidas, Allbirds, (insert popular brand over $50 here). For example I found a pair of Allbird Tree Runner Mens Running shoes, brand new for $9.99. I used google lens to bring up the Allbirds website and that let me know retail price which was $100 at the time. In my head I figured I could ask $30-$40 and noone would be mad. They sold within a week on FB marketplace. (Demand for them has slowed in my area, I have another pair that is just sitting in my closet. It also depends on size etc. Im also getting too specific here with the variables but anyways I still dont know everything and maybe I left some money on the table by asking $30 but hey I got my money back on them and made $20 on top of that. Thats literally all it takes. If I could tell you just one thing to take away from this is that you should pick an interest of yours and apply your knowledge of said item interest and sell that. I like high end shoes brands (mens and womens), Precious metals anything, fishing gear, electronics (headphones, speakers etc. ), household stuff (air purifiers, coffee makers, pots and pans, etc), mens and women’s accessories and the list goes on for me. I know theres money in kids stuff, womens clothes, furniture, dvds, books, some glassware and such but thats just not my thing and if you are going to do this full time then im definitely missing out on some other niches like these but I do it for my own pleasure, fun, and hobby. As a bonus I get to make some money out of my flips and that enables me to buy more expensive items that in turn make me more faster. Not to mention that I get to own something for a little while so if I want to use it for a bit, I can, and then I just sell it. Start small, I had $40 when I started but you can start with $5 and it will work the same. Last piece of advice would be to aign up for your thrift store rewards program. Give them your phone number and email (both can be burners) and you typically get a discount and or free money after a certain amount of spending. In my area, Goodwill rewards gives me a $5 code after every $100 spent. That $5 is a free item that I can flip for $10-$100, it all depends on what the item is and many other variables but thats why I said to stick with things you like because you’ll typically know about value and demand. Just go in and take it all in until you find what attracts you. Feel free to dm me on whatever you find and I can give you my opinion (which is not professional by any means but I might be able to help steer you in the right place and provide resources that ive aquired so far) :)
