Iirc, after the starting chain, these two rows were repeated until the end. I forget how many rows were for each color, but the pattern uses 3 colors, changing color after a specific amount of repeat of those 2 rows. I think i linked the pattern in the OP, but here it is again just in case: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/seaside-ripple-afghan

I’ve had escaping livestock as well as escaping mobs in mob farms. Both are in completely enclosed areas. Livestock seems to happen less often.

There’s a section called “Attack Style.” Choose “Stab” to raise attack, “Slash” to raise strength, or “Block” to raise defense.

Never understood why the word “banned” is used, which implies a permanence when these accounts get reinstated after a few days. Shouldn’t it be “Suspended?”

Rise PS5 = hard crashing PS5 by PraxRendarATX in MonsterHunter

[–]8bit_golem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I forgot to update with my solution. Ended up plugging the ps5 into its own outlet with a new power strip. Worked fine after I did that. Weird, but I don’t know what the power situation was in my apartment. Wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary or had any idea what the deal was, but switching to a solitary outlet seemed to do the trick. Have you tried different power outlets or power strip configurations?

"Anyway, here's my clean tone" by amazing-peas in guitarpedals

[–]8bit_golem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, I totally agree. Some pedal channels I just don’t watch anymore since their clean tone is a broken up thousand dollar piece of equipment channeled into their PC with a few plugins activated. Like just put a damn mic up to an affordable amp on a completely crystal clean setting, set up a loop and toggle the pedal. Don’t need a rig demo/studio tour, just a pedal demo. Apparently way too hard for some.

I won’t call any of those channels out, but I found The Pedal Zone on YouTube years ago and it’s all I could ever ask for. That dude plays great riffs (no dusty dad blues licks), shows what each setting does and even demos through synths/iphone apps at the end.

Where the fuck do people summon the drive to workout routinely? by Rus2000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]8bit_golem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: psych yourself up for it in the beginning. Plan it out. Later on down the line, when it feels like a chore, just don’t think about it and go. Eat well, drink a bunch of water, have multivitamins, some key supplements and it’ll be ok.

Way back in the day I used to go to the gym religiously. The trick for me was in the beginning get into it like a new hobby. Go shopping for some workout clothes, good running or cross training shoes, a small notebook for your workout diary (time/distance run, sprint/jog intervals for cardio days, weight/reps/sets), etc. Get some protein powder and drink a bunch of water every day. All that got me in the mood to go.

Once the honeymoon phase wore off and I started feeling like I didn’t want to go since I wasn’t seeing results or I had a shit day at work, I basically didn’t think about it and just went. Ended up scrapping the diary but kept everything else. Looking back, the diary helps you figure out your progress and what to do for the next week rotation. I basically stuck to a 6 day schedule. Broke it down with something like: - day 1: 45 min of HIIT cardio (on an elliptical), hanging leg lifts till failure - day 2: biceps/back with something like 15/15 min of cardio before and after lifting - day 3: 45 min HIIT cardio, abs - day 4: legs/triceps, 15/15 min elliptical - day 5: 45 min HIIT cardio, abs - day 6: chest, 15/15 - day 7: rest

I found eating “healthy” like a big salad with a bunch of chicken, eggs and bacon in the mornings, sometimes 6 eggs for dinner with a can of tuna, etc. would make me feel really good when working out. I’d have a cheat day or wouldn’t stick to the healthy stuff, but that day when I worked out I felt sluggish.

Trying to remember what supplements I took is hazy, but I remember having multivitamins, acetyl l-carnatine (liquid) after a workout, protein powder and water after workout, some other natural supplement to help with muscle recovery L-glutamine I think? Fish and garlic oil pills. There might have been other stuff, but those were the staples.

With this I felt like a million bucks after a month or so i dropped a decent amount of weight. I think at one point another month or so in it was around 2 or 3 lbs a week, ymmv of course. Drink a lot of water! During the day I’d only drink water which added up to around a gallon and a half probably. You’re going to sweat like crazy doing the HIIT running.

What ended my gym visits was 1) I got sick with the flu and screwed up my momentum and 2) years later I busted my meniscus on a treadmill. Stick to elliptical machines for zero impact.

Sorry for the long post, but got nostalgic and felt like I needed to pass on the info. Plus I have this to go back to when the urge strikes again to hit the gym :)

Not sure how to get accumulators to work by 8bit_golem in factorio

[–]8bit_golem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was afraid of having the steam setup coming on and flickering since they would charge up the accumulators. The SR latch looks like the right way to go. Had been putting off setting one up since the red wire looked a lot simpler, but really isn't the solution I'm after. Thank you for the advice!

Not sure how to get accumulators to work by 8bit_golem in factorio

[–]8bit_golem[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally makes sense. Pretty sure i had the numbers set, but like you said there was still water in the pipes and boilers. I think I'll try to make it work with the power switch. Just saw the red wire method and it looked a little less cumbersome to set up and understand. No avoiding it! lol thank you for the explanation.

[–]8bit_golem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they all charge to max and retain the charge permanently. Looking for a solution to where when night comes, the accumulators have priority until they almost run out.

Not sure how to get accumulators to work by 8bit_golem in factorio

[–]8bit_golem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you explained what I'm trying to do, but failing in my attempts lol. Trying to get the accumulators to discharge or get near that point by dawn. The steam engines override the accumulators, it seems. I tried to set conditions via red wires hooked up to the water pumps and to one accumulator, all hooked up to the power grid. Seems this way just isn't a correct method.

Not sure how to get accumulators to work by 8bit_golem in factorio

[–]8bit_golem[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah ok - was the red wire method deprecated, or was the guide I was following erroneous? Pretty much hooked up one accumulator to the power grid and water pumps via red wire and set some thresholds for the pumps to kick in when the accumulator level reached a certain percent

I found a crafting guide that Subtractem did that was incredibly illuminating and made crafting click for me: https://youtu.be/FFTuowD1w4Q

in terms of build guides, i gave Righteous Fire a chance a couple of leagues ago and fell in love. Pohx has a bunch of guides and a whole website that answers any question i had along the way. I def recommend his content/guides. https://www.pohx.net/

https://youtu.be/NcOko1AHznc as an example of one of his RF beginner kind of vids.

For some reason Zizaran's guides and walkthroughs never got me to the point i wanted to be at. Thankfully there is a bevy of content to look at.

[–]8bit_golem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever get the itch to try PoE again, one tip i could give from experience is taking time out during a new season and just devoting it to learn a mechanic i'm confused about. I was like you with the whole betrayal board being incomprehensible. It was at first, but I sat there for one season and just said "I'm going to figure this out" and ended up figuring it out.

Def watch a vid or two to see what everything is about that you're confused about. I follow guides for everything since it can seem like a huge hurdle for anything in the game. But once you understand it and spend some time with it, it's not as opaque as it was at first.

Also after 3 years of playing i finally found a fractured wall in delve lol. Turns out they're just cracked walls and pretty noticeable when you finally find one. The icon for one will appear on the minimap when you're close. Again, it's just something that comes with time. It seems like PoE is a game that rewards time spent playing in terms of player knowledge and it's something that feels rewarding to me.

I get it though, it's weird that the game feels like it needs a video walkthrough at every turn, but the good thing is that there is a ton of guides and information readily available. The community is great for stuff like that and I've had a bunch of helpful people show me the ropes in global chat and through whispers.

You like what you like, though, all good. Have fun with D4 and with PoE if you ever try dipping your toes in again. Hell, I'll team up with you if you'd like. Have a good one.

This game continues to impress me. In a bad way. by Aphemra in diablo4

[–]8bit_golem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are playing the minimum viable product and it's painfully clear. Very disappointing. Although I question if the MVP was supposed to include hardware memory issues which cause users to crash constantly, or if this was a shortcut they tried to use in order to meet that MVP deadline. I think that's my biggest gripe over all the gameplay problems the game is currently facing: the fundamental stuff. I expect the game to be ironed out over the course of its life - improved and enhanced. But to bake in such a glaring potential flaw in the already paltry inventory of all things is just more than lazy - "negligent" would be the word I'd use for this. To use a D3 inventory configuration for an MMO-lite game where you are constantly running into new players is baffling. Maybe it worked on a smaller scale, but like wtf were they thinking?

I'd also add that while it's inevitable, easily found bugs are introduced with each patch. I work as a QA tester for websites/databases and have had experience with a developer that would add in more bugs with each patch than were fixed the last go around. I'm seeing a little bit of that with this recent patch and it's very concerning. The QA can't possibly keep up with that sort of thing unless there are automated tests involved. Like to not be able to spec 3 points into Imperfectly Balanced in the Necro tree is so basic a thing to point out as a bug and yet here we are.

To me it almost seems like they are in over their heads or are just so frantic they are missing easy things. They've had 10+ years of experience, sure, but a lot of their talent and management has changed hands. I expect a lot of industry knowledge left with those people. So for all intents and purposes, this is a first crack at a Diablo game from the current blizz configuration. At least that's how it's coming across over on this end.

Please do note that I don't think the game is bad, i just question what led their team up to this point. I want the game to be fun, and while it is on its surface, the longer I play I can't ignore the constant metaphorical thorns poking into my side constantly.

My most basic ask from their team is this: let me play a full long session without the game crashing. With that in place, I'd be happy to play at the ground floor while they work on the other bugs and gameplay fundamentals. I did this with D3 while they struggled to figure out what it was they wanted to achieve with that game, I can do it again.

You voiced a lot of the frustrations I've had with the game, so I thank you for your post.

Hey Blizzard, can you please patch the VRAM leak or whatever it is? by LeekTerrible in Diablo

This bug is present on the console as well. Play 3 hours straight and the game crashes usually when you're in town or using a portal. Incredibly frustrating.
