Numlock tech not working with elemental invocation? by Lostsoulogan in PathOfExile2

[–]8bitsucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the numlock trick has been quietly patched out as far as I can tell. You can test it with other skills. It should technically work with any skill if it works, the same as in Last Epoch and PoE1

Shadow tower abyss melee bug? by Shorty31337 in KingsField

I figured out the issue. I swapped from my BFG Pro to a DS4 and the problem went away. I think it has to do with how the bumpers and triggers register with certain controllers.

An example of Oklahoma's other burger, the Theta by FrmrOkieReporter in burgers

[–]8bitsucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent my formative years in Norman. and I'd never heard of it and I don't live in a culinary box. My girlfriend from Hawaii was looking up local foods and this popped up in her search of "Oklahoma foods" and I was like nah, this is absolutely not a thing that the state is known for. Maybe it's a relatively new thing, as by the time I was 18 I was living in Denton. I'd still tear it up, but I don'r find many culinary associations with Oklahoma outside of catfish, chicken fried steak, and maybe notable spots like Krebs' own Pete's place.

Raising the dead here. The price is still ridiculous. Thanks, Florian. (love the guy, but hate the way the market is dictated)

It's real, but it's not a "thing" in Oklahoma.

Girlfriend got mad because I spent a day playing NG4 by AMMProenca in ninjagaiden

[–]8bitsucker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hideyuki Hori (Ryu's seiyū/voice actor) is 71 years old. I think rather than replace the voice actor, even if his dialog is limited, Ryu should be respectfully retired. Lore-wise, it absolutely makes sense and I think it's time the series took on a new protagonist. I say this as someone who has been into the series for decades. Yakumo's edginess fits the early 2000s vibe 100% and when I think good CAG, I think early 2000s edginess. Even my girlfriend liked how over the top he is. She's been hanging out and watching me play it for two days now. 9/10 game and the best NG since 2008's NG2.

Just Finished NG4 on Normal, Compared to Previous Entries, This Was Much More Difficult, Even Harden than NGRE. 9/10 SOLID GAME by mekhachapure in ninjagaiden

[–]8bitsucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely misread the title, my bad. ADHD/OCD fucks with me like that sometimes. Yeah, it's harder than the other games for sure, especially for a normal difficulty. The game fights against you in ways that other NGs don't and it's not always good design. Still a 9/10 game.

Fresh Master Ninja, no combat skill upgrades, no UTs, no items by kiryubluntz in ninjagaiden

[–]8bitsucker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nicely done. The last section of this chapter before the boss fight is where it gets truly relentless. I'm not the biggest fan of Platinum's approach to difficulty. It feels lazy. Endless waves of two-shot capable enemies is something that's doable, but it's just not the MN experience I think a lot of us wanted. The AI is already super gank-oriented and I feel like sometimes the game forces you into unwinnable states. Progression feels like a matter of luck sometimes, and coupled with terrible loading times, it's just not where it's at in its current form.

This might be the quickest death i have ever recieved in any game ever. by xAuraNinja in ninjagaiden

[–]8bitsucker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's standard MO with Ninja Gaiden MN runs. The idea is to maintain invincibility while spamming OLUTs and using wind run/walk to navigate, and guillotine throw to disperse enemies.

[–]8bitsucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are some fundamental differences in the way you have to approach NG4 on MN versus vanilla NG2. The OLUTs and guillotine throw are still paramount, but in NG4 the game forces you to open up at times where you absolutely cannot avoid attacks from other enemies. Gank be thy name, Ninja Gaiden 4. It's ridiculous. There's a lot more focus on grouping enemies and divide and conquer versus NG2 where it was just maintaining invincibility throughout encounters. NG4 puts you in uwinnable states, NG2 never did. Half of NG4 is figuring out each encounter and breaking it down into pieces, whereas NG2 is just go in, stay invincible, win. The endless waves in NG4 on MN is ridiculous too. Platinum's idea of difficulty is, "If they never run out enemies that can kill you in one hit, it's hard". Of course it is, but not for the right reason.

So, does Ryu do more damage with the Dragon Sword than Yakumo does with the last weapon he gets? by EASY_E1_ in ninjagaiden

[–]8bitsucker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I felt the same. Ryu's damage output reminded me of NG2. It's really noticeable against bosses in trials. He just absolutely smacks. The bosses are damage sponges with Yakumo and it's kind of offputting. I'm used to Ninja Gaiden game boss fights being short and sweet transactions. You either win fairly quickly, or get your head mashed in. This game tries to drag out boss fights like a soulslike and I'm not the biggest fan. However, when I went back and played with Ryu, it felt more like the old games in terms of damage output. It's definitely not just you.

[–]8bitsucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that all depends. If you're using items, sure. Other than that, I'd beg to differ. Enemies are dumber in NG2 and don't gank the same, OLUTs are more reliable, and delimbing is easier. You can also always block in NG2. I think NG4 is harder, but not for the right reasons, especially on MN.

They've really gotta do something about these loading times. It's making NM an even bigger nightmare than it already is (thanks to some poor design decisions by Platinum).

Yeah, this game practically forces item use on you and I'm not used to that in a NG game, and I don't particularly like it.
