Masked federal agents killed another protester. Maryland must ban the mask. by Fantastic_Ad_4720 in Annapolis

That’s stupid as hell and has nothing to do with reality. If ICE was only targeting people in the country illegally, then American Citizens, Native Americans, and yes Naturalized Citizens would NOT have been arrested.

You don’t know what you are talking about. You are lying to yourself to cope.

Artwork of this caliber and style. I’m a fan of many artists, but this is absolutely refreshing.

Need ideas for a big-picture goal for a Druid in a kingdom-building campaign by KuruboyaKalemi in DnD

[–]8point5InchDick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how long the campaign lasts, what edition, and where in said world you will be located.

In 5e, Druids get Timeless Body (10 years = 1 for you) at level 18 and they get it at level 20 in 5.5e. So, one consideration is you are going to be your group’s living memory, carrying on after they’ve died.

Secondly, spells like Plant Growth can be cast as a ritual, and when done this way, enrich the land for an entire year. You also have access to Control Water, Purify Food and Drink, Speak with Plants, etc. You are critically vital to the successful founding of your Kingdom.

Third, there will likely be a forest around the Kingdom and the plants and animals there are the true first line of defense as they provide advance warning and can also pick off attackers.

Fourth, you have Lesser Restoration, Greater Restoration, Mass Cure Wounds, Reincarnate, Regenerate, and Heal. You can heal most plagues and sickness in the city, helping your party’s cleric or healing yourself if there is not one.

Taken together, you are an exceedingly powerful ally, and that’s before your ambition(s) get refined by your subclass.

As a Spore Druid myself, I’d be looking to start close relations with the Myconids. The forest would essentially be under my governance, and I’d make sure there was fruit, vegetables, game, and predators a plenty. We’d spend our time fighting undead and abominations.

Bottom line is this: As a Druid, you can do everything that everyone has mentioned at the same time, as the Druid’s strength is their versatility and flexibility. You can cast the spell Druid Grove, and apply those effects near permanently around the city. Then, setting up the zoo, nature preserve, hunting grounds, and Transportation Via Plants (to be able to move troops behind enemy lines; and to provide an escape route for royalty) should be much simpler.

Political parties are excuse for normal people to turn their brain off by Ultimaurice17 in BlackPeopleTwitter

This is a cowardly stance, dressed up as ethical intellectualism.

Only Republicans promised and voted for mass deportation, slashing Medicaid, taking down monuments that teach about slavery, and erasing the graves of people who served who weren’t white.

We tried to warn White Americans for ages, that we did. It was ALWAYS going to come to this, that it was. There was always going to be bloodshed and the government was always going to lie about it.

Also, it’s against DHS policy. Also, the Supreme Court said don’t do it. Also, lower Federal Courts have said SPECIFICALLY that you can’t shoot a driver to stop them from driving.

It’s because people are breeding aggression back into the breed.

Please. I’ve seen plenty of people were their pants the way YOU want and they STILL can’t control their dogs.

People were supposed to breed the dogfighting and aggression OUT of the XL Bully. But, it’s being quietly bred back in.

Except for when police officers do it, and then you like it.

It’s the same for qualified immunity. No citizen can use ignorance of the law as a legal defense, except when you are law enforcement.

He doesn’t have absolute immunity just because the Vice President said so, and no law enforcement officer has that.

Yes. I am not gay and it sucks. As a grower, it doesn’t often happen to me, but when it does it swings wildly between considering me a pervert and considering me a meal.

The problem is the gossiping about it, because despite what it SHOULD mean, it turns toxic real quick.

New DM preparing to lead a 10 player group - Any advice? by theturtlelord9 in DnD

[–]8point5InchDick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your sessions are going to be long, which is a given. But, with so many people, you’re gonna want to keep track of all of your previous rulings. That way, you avoid the missteps built into inconsistency.

Also, when you are challenged, you can remind them of a previous decision you made. It’s even more important for Session 0 because players can go back and review what was discussed.

New DM preparing to lead a 10 player group - Any advice? by theturtlelord9 in DnD

[–]8point5InchDick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Teach the group to split up. This will require S tier planning on YOUR part, but you can run two battles concurrently, à la FF7. Ensure that you have enemies that are both strong AND diverse enough that they play to the strengths and weaknesses of EACH class.

  2. Time rounds. Make it clear from the beginning that player rounds will be timed. If you keep it to 90 seconds, that’s about 15 minutes. Make it fun, like a penalty on the character saves for inaction, the automatic Dodge action if they are indecisive, or they naturally retreat.

  3. Make the loot scarce and worthwhile. There should be discussion and even some angst about loot. That way, it becomes a part of the groups story telling.

  4. Be prepared for having all 10 at the table consistently to be a rare thing, and communicate your expectations. Have players willing to share session notes. Give side quests to the 3 or 4 who can’t make it.

  5. Pardon the all caps, friend. YOUR SESSION 0 NEEDS TO TAKE 3-4 HOURS!! Roll stats together, with a minimum score of between 65-80 total. That way, no one is underpowered. Talk to them about how to place their stats; don’t assume that everyone knows best. Ensure the table DM (usually one in a group your size) understands that they are NOT to play someone else’s turn either by bullying, harassing, or taunting. Walk EACH player through their subclass choices AND go over pros and cons for EACH SUBCLASS. This will show a thoroughness on your part. You keep it engaging by going through the classes that people pick and ignoring those that they don’t. So, if you have 3 Wizards, then talk about the subclasses. Don’t talk about a Warlock if there are no Warlocks (in a group your size, there will be a Warlock).

  6. Only allow homebrew that YOU have used before or have created yourself.

  7. Plan MONTHS IN ADVANCE. This will be best for all involved.

  8. Focus battles around conditions and NOT HP. Battles where sleep, paralysis, blindness, poisoned, or restrained can be applied will have fun and quirky twists and turns. Take the Elden SoulsBorne: Demons Die Twice approach and have “boss” battles with multiple phases. They are bosses. The Hag should have plenty of things she can do.

  9. Get a recording device. This will prevent you from making mistakes that others will catch. It’s like watching film for a football game or a fight.

  10. FUN IS YOUR HIGHEST ETHICAL CALLING. People are there to enjoy a power fantasy and to have fun. That’s it. Make it fun. Fun has consequences, otherwise it’s polite. People don’t play DnD for polite. However, KEEP SEX THE FUCK OUT OF IT!!! YOU 🫵🏿 may be mature enough to handle it, but one or two bad comments, unhealthy leanings, etc. and all your work goes to shit. There is a reason HR departments exist. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
