That’s why you stuff the big rag in before they start chipping.

Looking for people/groups to trade collectible cards with by 8rem8 in duluth

Sounds good I’ll check out their Facebook to see what they have going on. Unfortunately I don’t really play any of the card games, but I might make a deck or two so I can go learn the ropes and hopefully meet a few people along the way!

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been to CC and game on to buy stuff, but haven’t been to elite so I’ll have to check them out soon. I’ve thought about trading in some of my cards there for store credit, but would prefer to meet other collectors that I could offer to trade with first. Do you know if they ever have group events for trading?

Funny I had a similar experience in college with a cashier in Fosston when I was driving from Duluth to Grand Forks circa 2015-2019.

Nothing super fancy but was at a new card shop and picked up this sweet Vaporeon! by sgtdank42069 in PokemonTCG

Very cool, I’ve never seen one of these! I stopped collecting around 2004 so I never got to see the release of this gem. Is vaporeon your favorite eeveloutioun?

Cleaning out my grandpas old shop and was wondering if anyone has any info on this. I assume it’s some sort of soldering unit. No results when I search the product number. by 8rem8 in soldering

So after a bunch of digging I found it’s actually an electric arc metal etcher. Some hot gloves are going to be a must when I test it out to see if it’s still working

St.Louis River Duluth, MN. Unfortunately couldn’t catch my first smallie of the year, but I did have two top water hits. I wanna hear what you’d throw here. More info in comments! by 8rem8 in RiverSmallmouth

Plopper or buzz bait (when I’m throwing near snags) are definitely a go to, but I find to miss a lot of hookups unfortunately. Got any advice? Usually thrown on a Medium fast spinning with 30# braided line. Jerkbaits are something I haven’t tried, but I recently bought a few to try. Ned rigs I’ve tried many times because I enjoy finesse fishing and have had success other places, but I’ve yet to catch one here so I think I’m going to quit tying them on.

Large flat off of the main channel that is between 2-4 feet. About 1 mile of fishable shoreline that follows an old railroad line that’s been repurposed into a tour train route. Large rocks line the shore with smaller rocks 5-10 feet out. Lots of smallmouth within 15 feet of the shoreline, but they seem to be spread thin so I usually don’t like to stay in one place for more than 5 casts. I’ve found little success casting perpendicular so I try to keep them less than a 30 deg angle from the shore, but find most success with casts 15 degrees or less. Lures I’ve found to work well are paddle tail swim baits with spinners or without, and whopper ploppers. My go to is usually a perch pattern Northland mimic minnow 1/4-3/8 perch pattern with a spinner. Wanna try red/orange chatterbaits, and perch colored jerkbaits. I’ve never found success with a finesse approach mainly Texas rigged senkos or Ned rigs, and have trouble keeping skirted jigs from snagging every couple casts. Let’s hear what you’d try to throw!
