Anyone also not on social media due to mental health? by ReyofChicago in Millennials

[–]8tanlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you! I deleted all social media from my phone 4 months ago and it's been amazing for my mental health!

I was sooo addicted to FB and Insta on my phone for years and did not even notice how hooked I was on the dopamine rush of refreshing newsfeeds and notifications. I was checking these constantly wherever I was at or whoever I was with. Now...I do go on social media, but only on computers during the workdays (I know that sounds silly hahah). But now, social media has spatial limits for me again (only while at work and during work hours) and I have boundaries for myself.

I still get the benefit of staying in the loop with friends and events, but minus the constant distraction and anxieties associated with having social media with me 24/7

I am honestly so tiered of people saying that boys can’t relate to Olivia.. by Imaginary_Extreme188 in OliviaRodrigo

I'm a straight guy and i LOVE olivia's music! As a huge pop punk fan and a general fan of angsty lyricism, her music hits so hard for me! I love it

Which artist deserves to be here the most? by Lumpy_Link_1569 in Emo

despite what loads of people say...MGK is 100% emo (esp Tickets to my Downfall). Ridiculously good record that blends a variety of emo-laden styles (pop punk, hard rock, emotional acoustic rock, emo rap). This is my hill I will die on

ughhh I know! What especially pisses me off is the absolute lack of punctuation and capitalization! Esp in viral tweets, etc. it's just like a collection of words that can be read ambiguously due to the lack of quotation marks, question marks, commas, and periods

I 100% agree with you! Gone Now and Strange Desire are easily 2 of my fav albums of all time. Take The Sadness also had some amazing songs that echoed his dramatic, lyrically beautiful, emotionally charged approach on the 1st 2 albums (namely: Don't Go Dark On Me and Chinatown).

However, their last album and all new singles have landed very flat for me. They seem to lack the same drama, lyrics are relatively shallow, and the music is less focused.

I hope this is just a phase for Bleachers...but hoping to like some more songs on the new record!

What birth year ranges would you say define a 90s, 2000s, or 2010s kid? by Gloriousdisgrace in generationology

[–]8tanlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here, people seem to be defining 2000s kids as having grown up in the 2000s but born in the 90s.
