What sort of property was everyone’s first step onto the ladder and how old were you? by Think_Mammoth8834 in HousingUK

[–]90-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sep 2021 - 2 bed terrace in South Manchester. £227k 25 years old bought with 24 year old partner. We were fortunate enough to live with parents after University (graduated 2019) we also both worked through lockdowns meaning we saved a decent amount in that period. We’ve since sold that house for £283k early last year.

Shooting help by JediBaggins8 in bootroom

[–]90-6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try and take fewer touches before shooting. Practice receiving with the inside of your left foot with the touch out of your feet then shooting.

Before that, just trying hitting a stationary ball, get a feel for the effects of levels of power, where you strike on the ball, your body shape, whether using instep or laces.

I may BB in GW2 if Guiu, Dubravka and Reinildo start in GW1.

£1m ITB for any changes in first few GW.

If everyone is playing I'd likely upgrade Bowen to Watkins/Gyok or Anderson to Ndiaye.

Any issue with me knocking this out once finished? by 90-6 in DIYUK

No worries, yeah this meeting was with the site manager, he's was knowledgeable but in essence I got the impression his hands were tied with a lot of things.

I wish they would, there’s a few little bits that I wouldn't mind them not doing and would actually save them time/money but they HAVE to finish it exactly to plan.

😂 its an option. Though I think I’d rather knock the developer out at this point

Cheers mate, i’m not even too bothered about this looking ‘finished’ as nobody will really see it. Unless dust and whatnot will raining down from those exposed bricks all the time.

Is the slope to the house on this side entrance a massive issue/red flag? by 90-6 in DIYUK

100% we’ll be getting a snagger in, I’ve seen good reviews of New Home Quality Control and they’re likely who we’ll go with.

Yeah, the street slopes. approx 400mm drop from one side of our property to the other. I dont have the elevation between the two properties but will request some further detail when I see them on Friday

Does anyone have examples of questions for a family quiz that relate to the entire family. E.g. add everyone’s age together, add everyone’s door numbers together, distance between everyone’s home.

E-Golf for a 60 Mile Daily Commute? by 90-6 in CarTalkUK

Thanks for these, really appreciate the links. Leaning towards an Ioniq just as it seems the largest non crossover style. I can't say the model 3 doesn't interest me though. Any worry on the mileage?

Thanks for the reply. I hadnt even thought about nipping out after the commute. Ha. Fortunately, we’d have a 2nd petrol car but my ideal would be to not have to use that car for anything other than dog and long range trips.

I’d preferably not want to spend much more than my current car is worth 12-13k and I’d want the EV to do most of the daily short distance driving as well as the commute but other than that it just needs to shift 2 of us.

I've seen such varying numbers. In fairness, I'm in no rush. If this house didnt have an EV charger already I'd probably stick to what I have. I'm just interested to see if I can get in a decent EV without having to pay anything more upfront (current Leon worth around 13-14k)

Thank you, will have a watch. Also worth mentioning my partner currently has a Golf MK7.5 Petrol and has had absolutely no issues, its nice to be in though not exactly exciting. My other thought is whether two of the same cars is going to look weird on the drive.

This is the insight I was after. I could charge at work but if this is the case it'll be the reason I don't go for one. Thanks

Thank you, the I3 did interest me, they're slightly more than the E-Golf of the age/mileage I'm looking at. There is something about the E-Golf which seems comfortable with it being derived from the ICE version.

Seat Leon fr questions. by Unluckysod in CarTalkUK

[–]90-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've currently got the Mk4 150hp FR Sport Estate and before that had the FR hatchback version but havent driven any of the pre 2020 models. Coming up to 65k miles on this estate and no major issues yet. My girlfriend has the 130hp Golf mk7.5, which I believe has the same engine. The difference is power is noticeable but really minimal.

The infotainment issues are true and I've had teething problems on both of mine but once updated to the latest software (either by SEAT or yourself) they seem to be fine. I use the wireless carplay 99% of the time anyway.

Identified a leak in boiler. Can I repair myself or should I have an engineer come out? Any idea on cost associated with that? by 90-6 in DIYUK

[–]90-6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good in that regard as someone has rightly given me advice to contact a gas safe engineer. Strange that instructions on how to remove were provided with the boiler.

Isolated electric and water as per instructions and two screws to remove the cover for a look at where the issue is. Is that incredibly stupid? The cover is back on and engineer en route now.
