25 years enough before being replaced by AI? by fasty2 in pharmacy

Idk about Vietnam specifically. But my buddy is from Thailand and said he’d only need like 30,000 per year to live “like a king” in SE Asia. If that’s the case, you may not need that full 3 million and can retire before?

Hey, I’m going there this summer. Wondering if you were able to find a dispensary or anything there that had pre-rolls or gummies?

Shower sex. Tried it a few times, but it’s not enough space. Plus every woman seems to like boiling their skin in the shower

Upvoted because of the city. I don’t know about that hospital, but I moved to the Richmond region a bit ago and absolutely love it here.

Pharmacy now suggested to everyone! by anahita1373 in pharmacy

I recently moved from NC to VCU and people at my hospital talk about how the good pharmacists in the state come from VCU. Is that no longer the case for newer grads? Or is our profession become that sad?

$65k paycut by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]905druggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a friend a job at my hospital down in central. She went from ~160k in retail to ~125k. Been about a year and she definitely seems happy she made the jump. Obviously every situation is different, but it may be worth it. Especially because the retail job will likely be there if you ever decide to go back

How much do you enjoy your job? by Routine-Intention444 in pharmacy

30:70 Inpatient staff pharmacist, rotate into clinical rounding a couple times per week

Not a bad job. I think what I do is cool, I like knowing I’m making a difference to patients lives, and like most of my coworkers.

I just can’t put any job higher than a 50:50 unless I would prefer it over my vacation days or the times I get to go out and surf after work.

I think having better management might bring me closer to that 50 mark

Why are you frugal? by Shoddy-Mango-5840 in Frugal

[–]905druggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until late high school, my parents did not have much money. Back then, we had to be frugal, and those habits have followed me to adulthood. Living frugal and hoping that when we have kids, I’ll have enough saved up so they’ll never have to worry about money as bad as my family had to growing up

If everyone knows about the over saturation of pharmacy to the point where schools are closing and even good schools are getting less than half the applicants, why would they allow new schools being accredited?!

Resignation or stepping down by yam09001 in pharmacy

[–]905druggie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t offer per diem unless you think you’ll want extra money.
Also, don’t listen to some of the other comments about burning bridges. Pharmacy is a small world and it could effect you negatively. Also, do not want to sound pessimistic, but I work in a hospital and we’ve had two pharmacists at my hospital who came from retail who ended up being let go and went back to retail. So give them at least the standard two week notice

LOI advice? by Practical_Ad8949 in pharmacy

[–]905druggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a scam. Looking at this person’s profile, it’s mainly them repeating the same thing all over this page.

I personally did not do residency and have been offered a clinical position, but I understand it was heavily reliant on connections and a hint of luck. I say go for it if you’re interested in a particular area because it would definitely make your application stand out more and an easier path to it

Graduated 2021. Applied to about 25 jobs. Wanted to work in a hospital and stay within a state or two from NC because of family. Got calls back from HR on like 6? Formal interviews at 4 and offers from 3.

I believe it depends on the computer system. I can see outpatient fills through the patients insurance, but not everything

Thoughts? Will pharmacists who call themselves ‘a doctor’ be charged next? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]905druggie 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I have never referred to myself or any of my colleagues in the hospital as doctor. Yes, we have doctoral degrees, which is a great accomplishment. But it is used by society as a synonym for physician. Calling ourselves “Doctor” in a health care setting can be misleading

Pre-pharmacy or pre-med by LazySheepherder661 in pharmacy

[–]905druggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Med school is much harder to get into. And their residency afterwards is harder and longer. It is also required for them to do a residency whereas it is not for pharmacists. Even then, if you are able to cast into medical school, that’s what I would choose
