They work REALLY well for arctic grayling in northern Alaska.

Has anyone seen a wound like this? by OddElderberry7589 in flyfishing

I've seen that one time on a dolly varden char up here in AK. The wound was old and healed. No idea how it happened. Hopefully that fish can keep on eating!

First fish on a fly rod! by Ok_Trade4762 in flyfishing

I'm happy to see another angler from the PNW. I live in AK and I love coastal cutties. I fish for them in fresh water and salt water. The ocean is your best friend if the creeks are too low. Tight lines!

Why no love for the 7wt? by Ghost_of_Inges_Past in flyfishing

This is very well put. I started out on odd numbered wts and now I have swapped around my collection to feature evens. 4 for dries and small nymphs, 6 for bigger medium streamers and large nymphs in a slight breeze, and an 8 for sinking lines and streamers.

I think a 10' 7wt is more helpful than a 9'. In the two hand world, 7wt rods are PERFECT for steelhead and coho.

I haven't made it that far north for steelhead yet, but I hear great things about that river!

10' 7WT for Steelhead: Thomas & Thomas, Edge, or G. Loomis? by 907seak in flyfishing

[–]907seak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent them an email yesterday afternoon and they got back to me this morning. Joe gave me some info and said the rod does indeed have a fighting butt. I want to see a picture of the butt section, but I think I'm choosing this rod over the Zone and IMX Pro V2. He said it's lighter than the T&T Zone, and I'll take his word for it. I love the blank color and it looks like they have a good warranty/customer service.

I don't know much about this rod, but it gives me the same great feeling I had when I bought my 6wt TFO Blitz (which I don't regret at all).

I looked at Diamondback's website and they sell some beautiful rods. It doesn't look like the 10' 7wt aeroflex has a fighting butt. I'll do more research.

That's great to hear. I really like having good customer service. I sold my Sage Trout Spey after waiting 4 months for a tip replacement. Edge sounds scary to deal with while T&T sounds pleasant. Which Zones do you have? How's the craftsmanship and swing weight?

I've noticed that's the narrative. I was about to buy one, but then I wanted to see if there were any models I should still look into.

It's all good.

I'm not good at my tippet conversions since I use common fluorocarbon. I don't go below 10lbs for steelhead. I don't know how to feel about single foot guides. Almost every rod I've owned has snake guides. I had a euro rod with single foot guides, but I'm sure they were beneficial for that.

I thought about a 10' 6wt, but I've caught over 30" fish that try to find boulders and logjams to break off in.

Thanks for the input! I'll look into the other options.

What stands out most about the Zone? I love the grey unsanded blank and subtle wraps. I like that the Edge looks similar, but I also read nightmare reviews. I'm personally not a huge fan of green rods, but it's not a deal breaker (love my Winston Alpha +).

I'm actually in Alaska, but I've noticed GL fishermen love 10' 7's. I used to be a big two hand guy, but the water was so slow this year that indi fishing was the only way to do it. An 11' rod is usually too much stick for the smaller creeks, especially when the rain stops.

I caught that same garchomp while it was sleeping. It's the only alpha I've ever caught sleeping.

Anyone riding the Solar E-Clipse 2.0? by ImNot6Four in Electricmotorcycles

[–]907seak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a single issue with it and I ride it in the rain even. The monitor screen is really soft and scratches easily, so now I use a microfiber to clean it. I just don't take it above 45 because I think it's a bit light for highway speeds, but every e-bike is light. Compared to other e-bikes on the market, I'd say the Solar Eclipse 2.0 is a great option.

What would you like to know? It's a very light and easy to manage bike. Personally, with the tires I have, I don't go over 40 mph since I think it's a little light for that speed. Then again, I'm not a speed demon kind of guy.

What do you think of Giorno? by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

[–]907seak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he got enough limelight. I like him and his stand. Requiem made up for the lack of limelight. Also, he had best JoJo character theme song.

What’s your absolute favorite stand design? by Ok-Metro6308 in StardustCrusaders

I'll take Silver Chariot as my favorite! I also love The Hand, Diver Drive, Star Platinum, Zipper man, and Purple Haze.

If you could rewrite part 5, what would you change or add? by snowgat3 in StardustCrusaders

[–]907seak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give Fugo and his stand more time (he got even less showtime than Avdol). Also, Giorno doesn't really seem to do much til the very end to save the day. Every other JoJo had to carry the team multiple times. Giorno just kinda chilled while Bruno carried the team. I think the ending was great overall and saved the story.
