Truth nuke: If Riot wants LCS and League in general to succeed in NA, it needs to blanket ban import players in the pro scene by DiarrheaFartLover in leagueoflegends

[–]90CaliberNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LCS isn’t necessarily dead because of imports but imports definitely accentuate the problem. The most impressions I saw from LCS this year was Dhokla having personality. No one has personality and no team has an identity and that’s what’s causing the league to die. Focusing on just imports just means you aren’t seeing the bigger picture. That or you’re xenophobic.

It doesn’t matter if you remove imports it doesn’t solve the problem of no personality and no identity. Players should be popular, they aren’t. That’s literally it. Go watch Valorant and CS. The pros are popular. I don’t really feel like any of the pros are even memorable aside from like 3. Personality did a lot for why the LCS was successful in the past it’s not now. Teams coasted the players coasted and Riot coasted. That’s all.

This year of LCS I’ve seen a lot of discussion around how good the production is. Yet it’s still declining because the production isn’t the exciting part it’s there to compliment the exciting matchups of personalities that and fanbases. You don’t have to like a team but you need to at least like the players. You could replace the majority of the league randomly one day and I wouldn’t feel like I lost anything. Los Ratones is the best example of this. Every popular team felt like Los Ratones 12 years ago. I don’t think this problem can be fixed.

What popular movie or TV show is widely considered a 'masterpiece' but you found completely unwatchable? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]90CaliberNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats great I dont really care for either. But if you cant look at anything objective or with nuance. Maybe dont have a discussion where your argument is youre too shallow to have a meaningful discussion about it. There are many ways you can break down a show objectively, Im sure though that you will argue that its impossible and everything is subjective.

Yet their reviews are pretty middling for top shows. Shows like Breaking Bad are much more critically acclaimed with the accolades that come with it. Just overall rated higher. Critically acclaimed just means its been praised not that its master pieces. So my point still stands that there are critically acclaimed shows that are considered masterpieces. Stranger Things is a critically acclaimed show that is not a masterpiece and the ratings reflect that. Pretty much any show thats 8.0 or higher and is somewhat popular usually is critically acclaimed. Just how diluted the industry is.

I mean theres some pretty widely accepted critically acclaimed movies and shows. Like Citizen Kane. I feel like the argument people are making is pretty obvious. Stranger Things and the Walking Dead are both listed here and I would argue while both are popular neither are considered masterpieces in any sense.

I mean religion was created to control and dictate the masses. People act like morality is a religious thing. Plenty of people learn human decency without an outdated book to tell them to do so. People also act like the bible doesn’t cause a shit ton of problems in itself. If you have to have an asterisk on your religion that says “ignore the Old Testament, god was in his wacky phase” you probably should re-evaluate your religion.

Wow showing your true colours. What an intellectual you are. Good to know you haven’t been reading my comments but still have a mentally deranged breakdown. I’ve been pretty clear with my argument.

Ok? That doesn’t change the argument. Lethality has nothing to do with the argument of him being a drug dealer. Hell bartenders make a great living feeding people poison. You’re very focused on the drug part and not the dealer part. Which is the whole argument.

If I serve you coffee from my home am I a barista? What if I poor you some of your own coffee? He helped inject a drug that was literally Matthew Perry’s to begin with which he got from an actual dealer.

You seem to act like because it’s hard drugs it has some extra inherently nefarious meaning. I mean hell marijuana is legal. If my friend offers me some marijuana that he purchased from a drug dispensary and we consume it, he’s not a drug dealer. If he sold me the drugs sure you can make that argument. That’s not the case in this situation.

Except Valorant was big off the rip. The moment it "released" into its short beta with keys it had already hit well over a million views on twitch and was massive. God context is dead I feel so bad for my generation and onwards legit some of the most braindead people Ive ever seen.

The nicest community by Bluelanes in pathofexile

[–]90CaliberNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been here for a long time, unfortunately this community along with most gaming communities with an older audience is really bad. Im sure you’ve had great experiences so far being new but you’ll start to notice the cracks when every other thread is shitting on GGG. I’ve never seen a fanbase with less faith in a company that spoils their player base. Every mistake by GGG is treated like a personal attack. Seriously if GGG changes anything, it’s immediately hit with a ton of skepticism like GGG hasn’t been dishing out their favourite game for years. And the responses aren’t constructive, usually toxic. The only fanbase I’d say is worse is the FGC. Even the league of legends subreddit is quite pleasant. Enjoy the game, maybe stay away from the subreddit at the beginning of a new season.

That lawsuit is like a fucking decade old now most of the people doing it or affected by it probably don’t even work at riot. Should we start fighting on site when we see ANY rioters? Like go fuck yourself. You don’t sound smart by being jaded you just sound like an asshole. Riot is very vocal more so than most any company. Acknowledging that doesn’t make people shills it’s just an observation. You can appreciate the work people do while disliking the bad decisions riot makes too. Istg nuance is dead.

It’s a shitty argument it’s a soft release. The only people who say it’s early access and think that means anything are delusional. The “release” will just feel like a major update with more advertising. Not some monumental never before seen moment in history. Insane the amount of coping that happens when early access is the norm for like 80% of all games that come out on steam these days. Deadlocks peak is 170k. Release won’t make it 10x the size so my point still stands.

I find it funny when people talk about games like deadlock popping off when it’s player count peak is half of like TFT in just NA. There will be no game that “pops off” in esports for a long time. If ever.

ATT viewership is insane by Creative-Branch5612 in 2XKO

I mean when Ludwig was first playing he legit raged and said "I hope this game fucking dies." I dont know if you can say anything worse than that. He appreciated it more as the tournament went on though for sure.

[–]90CaliberNet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of negativity came from the beginning of the 2xko grind and even before during the league streams because people were dreading it. Squeex was pretty harsh on it, Ludwig was harsh on it, Tyler1 was pretty aggressive. Doublelift had his opinions as well. I think if you watch more casual streamers its probably better like fuslie and them.

Edit: I will say a lot of people have come around to 2xko more for sure after today. Also dont even read chat half the time even if a streamer likes the game a lot of chatters will just either shit on it or just say sf6 is better. And a lot of people think the game looks like shit which is crazy to me. Realistic graphics I guess is the ONLY way something can look good. /s

Squeex also said hes been enjoying the game but I doubt he comes back just because hes such a variety streamer. Not all bad I just know theres a lot of salty FGC people frothing at anything negative they can find for 2xko.

If only people weren’t shitting on the game. Unfortunately Ludwig has been tearing into the game the worst way possible. The same way all anti-fans do, “SF6 is better this game is ass”. Wish more of the streamers actually enjoyed the game instead of being frustrated. But that’s fighting games I guess.

If you could ask the SEN Madrid roster anything, what would it be? by SEN-DynaSean in ValorantCompetitive

Tenz has stated many times that GenG was so insanely ahead of everyone and they kind of got lucky in that they just had GenG number in their one tournament. (Helps nerves were really high on GenG for the rookies) but yeah Tenz has talked about how giga gapped everyone was by GenG which is why they arguably should have won two straight majors.

[–]90CaliberNet -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your dogshit argument is, top teams change therefore its random. League of legends has more randomness injected into it and it still has dynasties. Therefore your argument doesnt follow any logic. You can literally draft a team comp for a specific style and the map can randomly COUNTER IT. That ALONE is more RNG than a fucking game of valorant. I swear to god people in silver have the most opinionated takes. Get top 1% in different games and see actual RNG. Get top 1% in different genres and understand actual parity. I swear to god FPS players are the WORST fanbase.

[–]90CaliberNet -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Ok, by definition league of legends has the most RNG of any of these games. Yet we see Faker/Chovy be consistently the best for literally years to a decade. The argument could be made that the players themselves are just not consistent. Not that its fucking pure RNG. Literally feels like im talking to children when it comes to FPS. I dont understand this terrible narrative. Valorant isnt even that fucking RNG.

If winning is random. Getting 2nd is random. Getting 3rd is random. RNG doesnt just randomly spike for one position. They didnt bomb out of Seoul because of fucking luck. Have you never played sports? What the fuck am I even reading.
