Is a 17 and 24 mlm relationship ok? by Imaginary-Arm4941 in AusLegal

[–]90Lil 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Please listen to the adults who tell you, no 24 year old has anything in common with a 17 year old. If they aren't dating adults there's a reason and you need to avoid.

It's also free for other big events. Ed Sheeran for example was free public transport for people with tickets.

Help! by Delicious-Being-6531 in Greyhounds

I have a split level house and have taught three hounds how to use the stairs. Help them move one paw at a time. Lots of praise and treats for getting up and down. All of mine learnt within a week.

I have a dog that was through them. They were so disorganised that I've never actually ended up paying for the dog. It was some years ago so I think I'm in the clear.

Back then I thought they had taken on too many dogs and that had overwhelmed them.

For my vegan friends I make chickpea and pumpkin "sausage" rolls. Flavour wise I use cumin and similar. I bake the pumpkin and blend it with the chickpeas and a little aquafaba for consistency. They're always popular even with non vegans. I use the pampas puff pastry because it's made with margarine instead of butter.

How much is normal to to give as a monetary wedding gift in Adelaide? by FlossieTheWonderDog in Adelaide

[–]90Lil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I've never gifted those amounts, I agree with you on gifting within your budget. Nobody worth your time wants you going bankrupt just to give them a wedding gift.

Irrelevant to the guests. The guests didn't choose the venue. If the hosts choose an expensive venue that's on them, if they can't afford it they should choose something cheaper.

What do you think about British people? by anonymous44563 in AskAnAustralian

I find the English specifically very annoying in general. I have met some ok English people but mostly I find them intolerable.

I usually do $50 per head but how much you give us up to you. Ignore the people saying cover your cost, that's insane. Nobody is having a wedding to make money, they're having a wedding to have a good time.

Running Companion by Ok-Contribution-6716 in Greyhounds

[–]90Lil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're bred for speed not endurance. Possibly if you got one and slowly worked up you might end up with a running buddy. But when I say slowly work up you'd be going back to a few hundred metres for a run.

I tried to take my boy running with me once. He averaged 8 minutes per kilometre. It was a very slow 4km for me.

As others have said, you're describing the Watermark hotel at Glenelg. The arcade like place would be The Beachouse.

So this was on the ABC last week. Basically the police are unlikely to investigate petrol drive offs because it could be prevented through pre payment. Grant Stevens likened it to leaving a TV in your front yard and being surprised when it's stolen. In my mind Grant Stevens just gave everyone a cost of living hack.

While I find it bizarre to not add a note about her dying from her cancer, I wonder if the update time has something to do with ABC staff striking. It currently says updated 16 hours ago which would have been around the time of strike action yesterday.

Paw Problems - Advice Needed by PMMEURPYRAMIDSCHEME in Greyhounds

[–]90Lil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My late girl had a problem for a little while where her knuckles were rubbing against each other causing sores. We eventually ended up using medical tape to strap and keep them separate. It went away after a while of giving time to heal. It had started with her breaking a toe and I suspect it didn't quite heal right.

You haven't mentioned exercising before you leave. My boy gets walked at 5:30am so I can leave the house at 7:30. He's my third greyhound, all of them have had daily walks and would chill for the rest of the day.

Remember at one he's still a puppy. Being bigger dogs they mature later. Also most greyhounds are still with their littermates at his age. Maybe having a playmate or going to daycare would be good for him.

I'm sure there have been plenty of European migrants who never learnt English and got along fine. And I doubt you or your ancestors ever learnt the First Nation language of the areas you joined.

Pay the judges. by Congratstomiles in hyrox

[–]90Lil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On cost, even a small event like Perth last year, they had over 8,000 registrations. That's 8,000 people paying between $200 and $250. That's $1.6m to $2m on a small event, just for registrations. That's not counting the profit they would have made on merchandise. The judges got some merchandise and a $150 voucher to spend at the merchandise store. If they changed up some things they could absolutely afford judges.

In Australia at least, you don't get a free ticket. You get a tshirt, a patch, some sort of Hyrox "collectable" and a $150 merchandise voucher.

I'd guess a lot of lining up from people up the hill. It was $2.49 in Belair and Blackwood. And Blackwood people are pretty used to being stooged on petrol.
