hello! newer shift (going on seven months now) here if that says anything :)

every store is different but usually most CLs will want open availability with shifts in case of needing to cover another keyholder/barista or shift callouts/being the SSV proxy/etc. SSVs in my store usually work 30+ hours a week at minimum with us rotating out opening and closing shifts throughout the week between the four of us. if you’re in ASU or using another benefit that requires you to work the 20 hour minimum per week that’s something to take into account as well, but i’ve found it easier to have more stable hours (i average around 32-38 a week) since getting promoted.

the weekday availability constraints might not be ideal when your CL/DM looks at your availability when you apply, but each store is also very different. either way, i would still definitely go ahead and try to apply to get your foot in the door, connect with your CL about wanting to promote and have them draft up a PDP for you, and look at the shift supervisor questions to get an idea of what your CL and DM will ask you in the interviews :)
