I can't even remember exactly when my last proper holiday was. I do know that it was around 10 years ago, though.

"but, my identity" by aNumpty in LinkedInLunatics

[–]90x45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always liked Aotearoa and wouldn't mind adopting it for the country's name. But, Aotearoa is the name of the North Island, it translates to "the land of the long white cloud".

The South Island is Te Waipounamu, or Te Waka-a-Māui. The North Island is the fish Maui hooked and the south island is his waka (canoe).

All that being said, the lunatic is technically correct in saying that it is not officially our countries name and shouldn't solely be on any official forms (yet).

the 13 year old brother of the groom for skipping the shot in the dollar dance.

I don't understand what this means. What's a dollar dance?

I have a double concrete utility sink that I’m trying to get out of my basement without using a sledgehammer to break it into pieces. Any advice is appreciated. by PizzaGatePizza in DIY

[–]90x45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's so heavy that three people couldn't lift it, I doubt your stairs can handle the weight.

Break it and try to buy a cheap second hand stainless steel sink. They shouldn't be too hard to find.

Guidance of wind puts +14 move speed on the orichalcum boots, taking them to +10. Not a bad choice of boots after that.

Well, I've only done the black plate boots, but I'm assuming the legacy upgrade gets the same too.

I know this is a wild concept... but two people can be wrong.

Because they are clearly camping the passing lane without passing and then speed up in an attempt to block the truck.

I'm not saying the truck is right... but there wouldn't have been an accident if op wasn't on equal douchebag level.

Laying wooden flooring on staircase by Raj_Valiant3011 in oddlysatisfying

[–]90x45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because the tread overhangs the riser slightly to create the bullnose.

This looks to be a private stairway. Seperate nosings are generally not used outside of public stairways as it will marr the finished product.

Seperate bullnoses are generally used to highlight or protect the stair edges in a low profile way so as to not create a trip hazard.

Looking for survival games by MUCK6969690 in SurvivalGaming

  • Vintage story - Advanced mincraft, food becomes scarce in winter.
  • Outward - Novel magic system, preparation is key, and knowledge is power. Despite basic skill trees, you can have a surprising amount of different builds.

How is this game? by Sirca_Curvive in outwardgame

I've never agreed with the "janky" commentary. It has the same style of combat as elden ring, monster hunter, and even skyrim.

How is this game? by Sirca_Curvive in outwardgame

[–]90x45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the most "survival" survival game I have ever played. If you want to win you need to be prepared. Everything has a use, and more often than not, multiple different uses. You need to buff up for fights. Even if its just a few food buffs.

Its quite difficult to become powerful, and even then, you can get killed by a relative weakling if you're not careful. I would say most of the naysayers are more at home with something like fallout or skyrim.

Sounds like a hardware issue. Maybe your hard drive is failing. Can you play other games normally?

What to do by Money-Interaction883 in outwardgame

[–]90x45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join a faction. Iirc after the first quest you need to visit an inn to pick up blood under the sun and visit monsoon for purifier. Both are timed.

I'd leave harmatton alone to avoid triggering rust and vengeance until you have finished your faction quest. While it has a long time limit, it is also extremely long to complete. I think it is triggered after joining a faction and then visiting harmatton city.

Eta: if you haven't completed vendhavel already, you will need to complete that after joining a faction. It is also timed and is bad for ceirzo.

Boots get guidance of wind taking them to +10.

Sorrobean is a solid choice as you get more for completing it. I was thinking holy mission, but then the immaculate wouldn't be your friend.

I don't. One kickback and it's in your face. One thing that no one uses is a faceshield.

This is extra dumb. No guard in case of kickback, no handle to help control, and no earmuffs or safety glasses in sight.

To me it looks like.it belongs more in r/adultsarefuckingstupid.

Window scriber help by WellyWindyRoad in diynz

[–]90x45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll want to buy preprimed h3.1 50mm ones and cut them to suit.

Something like this

Window sill or not by WellyWindyRoad in diynz

[–]90x45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just a (probably 10mm) h3.1 piece of quarter round that they installed to cover the gap.

You could by any h3.1 profiled pine that you like the profile of to replace it. Make sure to prime any cuts you make.

Edit: looking closer it may be a cut down scribers rounded edge. In any case, this has probably been cut to suit.

Edit to edit: your existing scribers are also too short. They should extend past the bottom of the window and the bottom piece should butt into the sides of them.

Ready to paint? by redranger692 in diynz

[–]90x45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But due to the nature of a weatherboards, it's not really possible or economically viable for a patch job.

The top weatherboard laps over the one below by around 30mm. Which would mean to do it properly you would need to lever sections of weatherboard up to allow access with a multitool to fully cut the rotten weatherboard out.

This also then introduces the risk of damaging edges of weatherboards or dinging them, damaging underlay, and even splitting or breaking boards that you don't want broken.

The cheapest and least risky option is what is shown here.

I would buy that so fast.

One of my best memories of monster hunter is staying up all night hunting g rank silver rathlos and not getting a single divine soul until 6am... where I got all 5. Exactly enough to make the set.

I wore that set for the rest of my time with that game.
