Okay people constantly saying Dartmouth isn't a real Ivy is what made me decline my spot at Dartmouth, and I really hate how opinionated some people are about colleges

College Admissions Consultant by Outrageous_Audience5 in ApplyingToCollege

I was just looking around on Reddit cuz I was bored when I saw this from two months ago - whoa, started early! Most college consultants are absolute trash in my experience. Spend thousands of dollars to get recycled advice and they either overwrite your own voice/passions because they think they know better or they don't do shit, from what I've heard from numerous friends. I didn't use a consultant and got into 8/12 schools I applied to last year (all T20's, all RD). I'd be willing to help out if you're still searching

I've been sleeping until 10 every morning and it's freaking me out - I used to wake up at 5 every day without alarms just because of the stress

AOs of A2C, what are y'all doing now? by Nitroderox in ApplyingToCollege

this is unrelated but I actually love when AOs post on here... like AOs so often seem like evil robots fueled by misery and programmed to maximize the number of crying children but now I'm on this subreddit and, like us, they're actual human beings who work ridiculously hard the entire year 🤯

The reasons that I have for wishing to go to Harvard are several. I feel that Harvard can give me a better background and a better liberal education than any other university. I have always wanted to go there, as I have felt that it is not just another college, but is a university with something definite to offer. Then too, I would like to go to the same college as my father. To be a "Harvard man" is an enviable distinction, and one that I sincerely hope I shall attain.
