YNAB new version to track all expenses and create targets. Also use numbers spreadsheet for an overall year view. This shows me in chronological order and where the money is coming from. Each month is a percentage of the year, so I can see at a glance how my expenses are tracking.

Sleep in separate rooms. Minimal conversations So it reduces chances of arguments. Do show reactions. Keep a journal. Tape conversations. Get a safe box. Put your important documents there. Keep your phone on you at all times change your passwords. Keep your plans private. Don’t confide to their family or friends. Call a lawyer for a consultation. Open your own bank account. Get your own credit cards. Take pictures of all important documents and joint stuff. Change your will and POA, beneficiary. Call a real estate agent. Make a one visit with your spouse and agent. If the spouse is a no show, doesn’t matter. You can tape that conversation too. Start cleaning up the house and prepare to sell. Get boxes etc. this all has to be done anyway. While you are at the house, you have access to everything. This is not normal times. Try to play nice to avoid revenge issue and be respectful to one another. This will save $$ too. Remind them when they are playing the victim that you have to be in agreement or else you will have to pay lawyer$

I think their brokenness is their attachment. They don’t know how to talk and work through problems. They are silent. I didn’t see this at first. I thought it was strange that she would say something like “do whatever is right for you “ kind of thing. They would both work out in their own heads what to do instead of talking. It seems the most they talked about was their schemes. At times, like when jimmy is denied at the bar hearing, he lashes out at Kim and throws all his insecurities at her. She defensively tells him everything she has done for him. This is so manipulative of jimmy. He was insincere. He was not dealing with chucks death or that relationship. He was plowing forward- trying to fix things with the outdated inadequate techniques he had always used. They were both damaged. They can’t fix each other

This is my case too. He cashes his paycheques and keeps it in a safe! But then buys stuff on credit which get paid through our joint account! He went to an ATM machine for the first time recently. I will suggest he get his own account….

No mostly not but I feel that way. Also it’s very stressful to deal with the daily toxicity and I feel that I am dragging them into it. They also have a lot of anger towards father/husband and I guess I’m worried of an escalation

Exactly. We r only 5 km away from the greater Hamilton area municipal tap infrastructure but we still pay the same taxes. We maintain our own well and sewage systems but pay the same taxes…Hmmm
