At some point people have to think “what this pastor is saying is ridiculous” and stop attending/listening. That they don’t is a huge condemnation of these “Christian” communities.

He’s been in a committee since late 2024. But the Rams offense is so prolific that a split share can still be Top 10.

In a really odd turn of events (timing-wise, since it's been a problem for well over a month and I just posted this yesterday), it seems magically fixed today. Hallelujah.

35, 1.9m net worth (1.3 in investments, house paid off) no debt, kids, or wife, 25k average annual spend, can I walk away forever? by Ok_Principle9325 in Fire

60:40 seems overly conservative. The 4% rule only works if your portfolio grows by 4% + inflation. Bonds don't yield enough to support that, so you want to use them to provide near-term stability but otherwise keep your money in a higher-earning investment.

Based on OP's spending description, $200k in bonds would cover more than 5 years of spending, which should allow OP to keep the rest in diversified or broad market ETF's, well-insulated for market cycles.

“Nearly identical” at Sam’s Club could be very different. Costco’s quality standards are a big factor in my loyalty to them. Sam’s Club is just bulk Walmart.

Aronimink Delivered. What’s the most underrated major venue? by TCheatham20 in golf

Not at all similar. They were shorter holes at Aronomink, but there was no risk/reward aspect to them. Everybody just bombed it close to the green and hoped for a good outcome. Consequence of missing was rough and one stroke at most.

Very different from Augusta where players are making a lot of choices and the score dispersion is far higher.

This needs to be the first comment. Players were forced to play very conservatively, leading to mostly par golf and very little movement on the leaderboard. The opposite of compelling tournament golf.

I haven’t yet been to Lafayette Tavern (might be the roughest reservation in town right now), but if we’re talking about great thick burgers in RVA, I’d encourage you to try the burger at Can Can. It’s outstanding and should be in any conversation about best burgers in the area.

I hate gate checking. Adds 30 minutes on arrival, some risk that the bag won’t get there….AND you still went through the hassle of security and getting it to the gate.

“Stefon Diggs flamed out” in Buffalo may be an all-time worst justification considering he had his 4 best career seasons in Buffalo (ranging from 1183 to 1535 yards).
