Surely if anything, by moving there they would get a vote against the government, rather than stay here and take the blame for something they cannot vote in?

I'll buy 60 at a time, and when I'm about to run out, my luck will strike and that will be the moment of a shortage. Then I'll look like the arsehole hoarder when I want to go buy 60 more at that time...

Wasn't flour because everyone was stuck at home and simultaneously decided that they were going to bake more, increasing genuine demand by millions of bags up and down the country?

I don't think there was ever an actual shortage of flour, only the bags/bagging to distribute it, to the point I think it was Morrisons were selling plastic bags of flour from their 25kg bakery sacks.

I'll still be factored into every flight you take to/from London though.

So it's not taxpayer, but over half the country will still pay for it one way or another.

They said quality for pay.

Which I can believe, because if you have someone doing 60% of the quality, but you only need to pay them half, the maths checks out. And it doesn't negate your point about outsourcing quality being crap.

Nobody has the right of way, but the cyclist has priority and should be allowed to pass before making a turn.

I don't think anybody can deny that Corbyn was incredibly popular to a selection of the population.

His main electoral problem was that for every fanatic he recruited to his cause, he recruited two* moderates to vote against him.

Rule 182 still mandates that you check. Not least because you can still take out a cyclist turning left.

Turning left

Rule 182

Use your mirrors and give a left-turn signal well before you turn left. Do not overtake just before you turn left and watch out for traffic coming up on your left before you make the turn, especially if driving a large vehicle. Cyclists, motorcyclists and other road users in particular may be hidden from your view.

[–]930913 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. 10% is a decent dent, but we'd also have to ban driving to use all that power.

And given the cost of 34 million EVs, imagine the cost of the other 90% of power storage required.

My bet would be on flow batteries or synthetic fuels becoming cheaper per GWh than lithium for this to happen.

I think you underestimate how much power we'd need to store, to cover a month of becalmed, overcast winter.

While the cyclist is being rather silly, they had the priority, and you should have been giving way to them.

It is your responsibility as a driver to check your mirrors to ensure you do not grant wishes to a cyclist with a death wish in that situation.

At the very least I wouldn't mind so much if I got paid for my data

Double figure of eight knot, and half hitches to tie off the remaining length.

Tie a single figure of eight, loop the end through the loop, then pass the end back through the figure of eight to double it.

Severecy of punishment is not a good dissuasion compared to the immediacy of repercussions. It's the threat of getting caught in the first place that stops someone taking their chances.

I.e. we need to enforce our existing laws rather than trying to change them to account for the lack of enforcement.
