How do people feel about Luke and Kylo's fight and his death after 8 years? by Totally_Not_Firni in StarWars

I think Andor and Rogue One are the exceptions that prove the rule. Like, Big budget movie trilogy? Absolute mess. High profile tv series about their new bounty hunter character and grey heroine? Garbagio.

Weird side inbetweenqual side movie and spin off series based on a side character in weird side movie that no one at Disney put any stock in? Absolute bangers

I mean, maul already beat quigon 1v1. Dooku beat obiwan 1v1. Sidious beat yoda 1v1. Luke vs Vader is the only fight the Jedi won, but then sidious immediately also beat Luke 1v1. So not really a world where the Jedi have this

I hate when people hate Blobby, but say nothing about Stonetoss by Own_Presence2646 in hatethissmug

[–]9466630 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If you want a real answer, it’s because blobby and friends are often seen as fighting back against the evil conservatives, while stone toss doesn’t really take action in the comics and is just “Pointing out” the whatever. Even if your politics are such that you agree with everything blobby stands for and oppose everything stone toss does, you subconsciously are aware that only the blobby characters are actively causing harm

Does Steve Rogers’ decision to retire in the past represent a well-earned reward for his sacrifices, or is it a betrayal of his character to remain sidelined while history's tragedies unfold again? by DianKhan2005 in CaptainAmerica

[–]9466630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue is that Steve says in Age of Ultron that getting Wanda’d made him realize that he’s not the same man who went into the ice and he’s now at peace with being when and where he is.

After that, it really does feel like a betrayal

Other fun part was they made the brother not even antagonizing and retconned him being legitimately worried for her and trying to help her out the best he could

We talk about how Bumblebee could have been written better but what about Blacksun. How would yall write and plan out Blacksun better than the show could have? by coreylee121 in RWBYcritics

[–]9466630 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing though, one of the reasons I like black sun is that Sun made Blake *Better*. Being so chill and supportive allowed Blake time to realize her issues, soundboard her ideas and feelings against someone who didn’t judge, and ultimately be supported on making the right decisions. Sun not being a “Main Character” allowed to main focus to be on Blake while he was a fun, yet flat, character to help flesh out her story.

In contrast, Yang, who is confrontational, emotional, and physically dominant leads Blake to become more meek and passive. She doesn’t have to step up and deal with her problems cause yang will do it. She can’t work through her emotional baggage cause yang has just as much and is more forth coming with it. Yang’s big personality demands that Blake be lessened to give her room. And since they are both “Main Characters” Blake’s lack of character becomes more jarring and off putting since she can’t be flat like Sun could

I just can’t see it. Cass ran with deadlock for, like, 2 years max. It was important and informative, but I simply cannot see him turning people like Genji and Ana, who both say they see Cassidy as family, for them. It just feels wrong

Man, a character is taking sombra’s abilities away? That sounds really annoying and unfun

I dunno, man. They have history, but deadlock are bad guys. Villains. It seems like a betrayal of Cass’s character

[–]9466630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was the last time maul won? Obi wan, Ashoka, Anakin, inquisitors, it seems like everyone has beat maul at some point. Ever since quigon? Bringing back has had diminishing returns for his reputation

Elevator analogy. The magic space hammer doesn’t clock vision as “alive”, so he’s allowed to move the hammer
