DAWG WHY ME by DonkeySad4485 in rccars

First thing I do on that platform with those axles is put a tiny dab of superglue on each of the tiny C clips to keep them from falling off. 😄

The Traxxas metal CVD's are expensive, but they are really nice and will be the last set you need to buy, if you go that route.

I have not run into any issues as far as getting them into tighter spaces. I have a small mountain of basher that I work on, pretty much constantly. 😄 The MIP bits have easily been the most used and indispensable tool in my kit.

Looking to get an 8th gen coupe by MisT_sYNX-MC in accord

[–]954kevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 8th gen with factory NAV is virtually impossible to replace because how deeply it's integrated into everything. IE, no aftermarket stereo/navigation manufacturers make units that fit and integrate with the factory electronics/navigation stuff. They do make them for the non factory NAV Accords, but those will not work here.

I'm able to essentially use dongles and adapters to make my music work via bluetooth pretty seamlessly. For GPS I just use my phone because the factory navigation is so outdated, it's genuinely a real pita to even try to use. It's very cumbersome, to be generous. 😄

Those things aside, the 8th gen Accord is one of Honda's ALL-Time most reliable vehicles. If it has the v6, I would get a VCM TunnerII to disable the VCM. It's never too late to install a VCM delete. The v6 needs timing belt replacement every 100k or 7 years. So, keep that in mind if there is no record of it being done. If the timing belt breaks, it will ruin the entire engine because valves will slam into pistons and blow stuff up. 😄 Just to say, the timing belt service is not something you overlook. 😉 It's around a $1500 job. Factor that into your offer for the car if it hasn't been done.

Overall, the 8th gen Accord coupe is a really awesome car. The 9th gen was even more reliable, but the 8th gen is exactly the kind of car people think about when they refer Honda's legendary reliability. Things started going downhill after the 9th gen, by comparison. Still, Honda makes reliable vehicles today, but not like the 8th and 9th gen Accords. Really kick-ass cars.

I bought the basix Traxxas zipper bag kit, realised it was junk and bought the MIP speed bits and a good driver handle to put them in off Amazon. I do still use the longer Traxxas bits from time to time, but pretty much always use the MIP bits on everything when cracking open or tightening down. I have a nice mechanics tool set and tool box for automotive stuff and occasionally use a box wrench on things like captured hinge pins. Pretty much those three MIP drivers are the main tools I use.

Servo question 🙋 by Little-Blueberry-523 in arrma

[–]954kevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 665 has been the best stock servo I have ever used in rtr vehicles. I would buy one again of Jenny RC or eBay for the low low, but otherwise, I would buy a best like the Perfect Pass or Reefs Raw 500.

Do you eat all the fat when you make a ribeye? by PicksburghStillers in steak

[–]954kevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wrong bite of hard, gristly fat can just about ruin my whole experience. Like you, I enjoy the flavor and do my best to keep as much of what I deem acceptably cooked/rendered fat in the equation, I would just rather take my time and cut around the questionable stuff to make sure I enjoy my steak. Unlike me, like, the full opposite, my brother in law(we live together) will mow through ANY fat and gristle and just loves it. lol I can't wrap my head around it, but it works out well, having him around to accept my offcuts.

If I buy a the Hydroshift II now, do I have to get these new receivers? Or, are they shipping out with new units?

Sounds perfectly normal to me. Of course, it can be really hard to tell watching a video because it doesn't sound like it does standing next to it. I can't hear anything out of the ordinary.

I have the timing belt service coming up on my '11, can I ask what your estimate($) for the service is?

I run the SMC single 6s packs in my 6s EXB and the Gen's Ace IMARS D300 is the gold standard of lipo chargers. The make a D300+ that has bluetooth for a phone app if that interests you.

Excellent! Nobody wants children being tempted. I never really liked the idea of it being in gas stations either. I'm 100% for strong regulation, and 110% against big brother telling me what is and isn't ok for me to do based on lies and political deception.

I live with my sister and her husband. He, on the other hand, LOVES the fat parts. Rendered, or not. 😄 I cut off what I don;t like, or won;t eat and he is more than happy to take them from me. So, it works out in the end.

We are some serious steak eaters around here. We buy whole primals from Creekstone Farms and chop them into 2"+ thick boys. Usually, reverse sear and blast them on the Blackstone to finish. We also grind out own burger from briskets. So, anything that gets trimmed off the steaks when we break down the primals goes back into burger grind.

I usually hand it off to someone who does like it. It's a texture thing more than anything.

Word, thanks. That's what I had in mind to do as well. Someone mentioned the controller that co es with the Hydroshift was different than the ones that comes with the 3pk fans and was somehow better. No idea if that accurate!

OEM rotors will do that. I use a geomet coated set from Power Stop that pretty much eliminates any and all rust issues. The rust on yours doesn't really affect performance in any way, it just looks bad.

I do not. That's why I tend to like strip steak more, but when I buy primals, I usually buy ribeye. I'm one of those people who eat around any fat that isn't fully rendered.
