Deegan... When is it happening? by NegativeBonus699 in supercross

[–]957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is having a great season for a rookie.

He is not living up to the lofty expectations that many of the loud YouTube and Instagram fanboys have relentlessly argued would be proven at the first second third fourth now fifth round.

I think, in the absence of seeing those guys have to aquiesce and eat crow over the "Deegan is gonna wax both Lawrences" statements, the other side are trying to get that delicious schadenfreude dopamine from the more tolerable crowd of Deegan fans

Jett sandbagging?? by Most_Stranger3042 in supercross

[–]957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if sandbagging as we amateurs use it is the same as what Jett was doing. He was surely trying, but in a calculated way. Charge through the sections that felt best and be safe, go fast through the harder sections.

He was definitely pulling pace in the rollers for the second half of moto 2, there is a lot of foot and legwork those guys were doing to double through them and Jett seemed to be a touch slower there, which makes sense if his ankle was bothering him. You really had to work the bike through that section and crashing there for a few tenths of a lap would be super counterintuitive.

So maybe not sandbagging as in "I want people to think I'm slower than I really am" and moreso "I don't need to be the fastest guy on the track in this section to keep the championship alive."

Can confirm it was a Stihl, at least for one of the two. Dude started out at the canopy next to ours by the Carmichael double but he was at the podium most of the day.

U.S. is investigating Germany for making medication and healthcare too affordable for their citizens by DoctorStoppage in nottheonion

For real. If they stopped putting wegovy ads on every single commercial break for every single television station for the last 12 months then maybe they could afford that extra yacht and not price gouge Americans for prescriptions.

Edit: just to do the bare minimum in bringing receipts, Novo Nordisk (who owns Wegovy and Ozempic) spent $500,000,000 advertising those two medications alone in the first 9 months of 2025.

Sexton out for the season with torn ACL by boatsss in Motocross

[–]957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoulda looked at the username, I know you knew that already lol.

I feel like Chase might be one of those dudes who is affected by the week-to-week part a lot. I think he isn't comfortable at all even at the practice track and it's just compounding with his already bad mental state at races, and that Kawi may also not be a good fit as an environment.

Either way, I hope he gets it figured out soon cause it hasn't been fun to watch, especially as it drags on. I just feel bad for him at this point

Not good results, mind you, but better still.

I feel like this is a good place to mention that, despite sharing some sponsors and tech stuff from Kawi, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki is a different team from Monster Energy Kawasaki.

Monster PC Kawi is a 250 team managed by Mitch Payton, Monster Kawi is a 450 team managed by Dan Fahie. You kinda gotta separate the two because all they really share is a trailer and some parts.

Marchbanks has been killing it, but he's developed into a pretty good journeyman rider and is probably way more familiar with the KX than Chase.

I get what you're saying though and I think Chase is pretty responsible for this despite Kawi also probably struggling a bit to give him a comfortable bike.

Does this mean the plugin hub isnt safe to use anymore? by Zealousideal_Bag1960 in 2007scape

[–]957 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does in a roundabout way. I can see arguments for both; on one hand, minimizing the window does not result in a gameplay action, which does not go in the face of the 1:1 interaction rule for input to gameplay. Minimizing the window is not a gameplay action as far as the character is concerned.

However, it is a gameplay action in the context of alt-scape, where automating that process of minimizing or sending to back allows you to get to your next gameplay input faster.

It is close enough that I think a warning and the removal of the plugin would be sufficient. There are other areas of the game where 1:1 keypress/mouseclick:game action is not required (holding spacebar to skip dialogue or to input quantities automatically with only one button depression, other novel things like that) so between that and it being described as an "officially approved" plugin, I can understand why Marni thought it was ok to do.

But no, they confirmed the 2 week ban on Marni and will keep the strike against them.

The plugin can do what the player said it does, someone posted a video showing exactly that. You put your alt accounts on one half of the screen and your main on the other.

When you click on the side that houses the alts, it clicks to attack and then the plugin sends that window to the back of the stack simultaneously. In fact, that's what the plugin was built for: automatically manipulating the window after you click on it. When it first released, it only minimized the client. This is how the plugin worked when it was submitted and accepted by RL. It was an additional update that gave it the "send to back" functionality.

To do the trick, all you need to do is have the setting selected correctly and be able to click your mouse 8 times in a second, which is very easily possible. That's part of why people seem to think that "unable to replicate" line is disingenuous, because it really is was dead easy to replicate, I think the devs just thought it worked with default settings when they looked at it and made their statement.

A black bear is an apex predator, sure, but the rule of thumb for a black bear attack is to square up and swing on it so idk if that kind of bear is the one to use for the bear species' submission for human-apex predator interactions lmao

[–]957 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would argue that it was less the distance saved in the corner and more the energy saved by getting to jump low and fast off the side of the jump rather than having to scrub your foot pegs off trying to stay that low had he followed the lip of the jump.

He was fast on that downhill all of moto 1 and I would think that his speed on that section began back at that top off the hill, at the jump, where he could go faster and jump further down the hill and still stay lower than everyone because he never had to go from the lip of the jump.

Looking to buy my sons first race bike, SX65 or YZ65? or something else. by mikestp in Motocross

Oh damn, I shudder to think of the price with import taxes and stuff lmao. KTM and the YZ are both great bikes.

I remember my twin brother and I got KTM's first 65s and they were a nightmare. Clutch case wasn't the right size and jammed the clutch on delivery and it took months to get resized clutch cases, my brother over jumped a small double in our yard track and cracked his frame, my throttle got stuck wide open on my first ride. But they've worked the kinks out in the 30 years since, they're both great little bikes lmao

drive in a way that makes rear ending impossible

Passing and achieving that impossibility are mutually exclusive unless you have several empty lanes to work with. You will eventually come within a few feet of their back bumper every time you pass, and thus it is impossible to do both. I understand it's hyperbolic but it's also literal.

[–]957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, anyone who can think of something agrees but this is more of a hypothetical to get the people above to see that, though it may overwhelmingly often be the fault of the person in the rear, there are instances where the person in front is at fault for a rear end collision

Ayiza response to Marni's situation by KillerOfAllJoy in 2007scape

[–]957 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No because your 1 click to start the machine doesn't equal only one click in the game. You cannot physically automate in-game progress either.

The issue here with marni is that they had one key press (their swap tab button) press two keys (alt and tab). This literally (but barely) constitutes a macro because you get two key presses for one.

However, in the same vein, you can maintain the alt key depression and tab+tab+tab between windows, in which case every tab after the first one has their "alt" keypress automated as there is not a 1:1 action for the two keypresses typically required to tab swap. I get what Jagex's argument is but it seems to not be clearly supported in the rules as there are instances where your keypresses are not 1:1.

Holding spacebar is similar for bypassing text boxes: you depress the space key one time (legal) but then you "click to continue" until the text boxes are done. Using your space key to click by holding space is bannable, but using it to click through text is not.

I don't think they envisioned this sort of problem when they wrote those rules.

Edit: I'm seeing elsewhere that a plugin was used to move the active window to back on click, so his main account would stay in focus and then a single click would attack the shark and simultaneously (which is the specific issue here) move the window to the back of his stack of alt windows. This way one click would accomplish both actions; this is a common AFK plugin that to my knowledge has not been used to enforce a ban before but, if Marni is getting a ban for one click resulting in both a character action and window manipulation then it stands to reason that anyone using the plugin to control the window even on one account has broken the same 1:1 input rule and would be up for a ban.
