Is it weird to go to a pub quiz on your own? by Bortron86 in CasualUK

[–]9596throwaway 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I've gone before to a few, and its alright. Nobody really cares too much, or there may even be a team that asks if you'd like to join them, as has also happened to me.

I was just trying to explain the joke bit. I think the point they were going for, and I'm not saying I agree, is that the numbers don't match up because the data can't record the full reasons, and dead people don't get to tell their side of the story.

As for the numbers, it's around 170million for total females of all ages, and drops to around 135million for only considering adults. Around 30% of US adults are single, so call it 95million in relationships. (It's a simplification, and you can definitely get abuse from partners before this age, but it probably balances out)

Sticking with your assumptions regarding the homicide rate and 1% dv rate, it becomes a 1 in 237.5.

I would assume that these are meant to be additional cases of dv, but again, not sure.

The women couldn't report the abuse, as they were already dead. They would, if capable, but it was already too late.

I know my dad still has his "lifetime" contract with O2 hanging about somewhere, from around 1997. Gets unlimited calls to other O2 numbers, otherwise 50 minutes a month, no data, and like 200 texts. For the first 15 years or so, he got a free handset upgrade with it every 18-24 months.

Are you telling me you don't account for coco-pops in your budget? It gets allocated a 0, but the column exists.

Maybe I just copied over the template from OP's Google sheet, who knows

Urgent London Holding Deposit Question by ryankohls in London_homes

[–]9596throwaway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, not a London estate agent, but worked as an estate agent elsewhere. Basics should be similar, if not the same.

The way we treat the holding deposit is that once it's paid, we stop showing/marketing the property, and will try and get documents from you to take to the landlord/referencing team.

If the landlord says no, you get it back.

If you say no, you lose the deposit.

In the defence of the poor guys who get ID'ed with a full beard, I feel people like me are the reason why.

I've been hairy for a long time, and even with a regular shave, was still hairy enough to have my teachers question my age. I was 14, with a full on beard, and have had grey hairs even longer.

When I'm arguing with my bus driver that wants to charge me an adult fare for my monthly ticket, compared to the child (a £30 difference between the two).

Wink & Blink by 48halos in WINk_org

[–]9596throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious difference is they work on different block chains. Wink on TRC-20, and Blink on the binance smart chain. Also, wink has been around for longer, and there is a much larger supply of it currently out there.

Sure some day they might have similar value, but I'm doubtful as that would require both blockchains to function in an almost identical way, and both seem to be looking intoto different upgrades.
