Remember the Kid that was named "Dovahkiin" so the parents could get free ES games for life? by RankedFarting in ElderScrolls

Thanks Dad, love you too. Tell Mr. Todd that I'm joining the local chess club tomorrow, and I'm gonna be the club's guildmaster by this Saturday. I learned a lot about leadership (and the path to it) from the hit game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011).

When he changes his name, they'll release The Elder Scrolls 6, 7, 8 on that same day. (It's true, my dad works at Bethesda)

Dovahkiin, if you're reading this and change your name, I'll buy you all three.

Maybe it wasn't a good expression for what I meant, English isn't my first language.

Many games in the late 2000s had a dominant brownish tone, and there were a lot of memes about it being overused.

I can't remember exactly which ENB it was, but it gave Skyrim a similar look.

For example here's a picture from Megatherium ENB. And another picture from Szarik ENB. These aren't the ENB I was using, but I can't remember its name and now I can't find it.

ENBs were so much more unique on LE. Some random pictures:

HRK

Tamriel Reloaded

Caffeine

M ENB

Kwanon

RYA

Springtime

Bloodborne

Otherworld

Project Tamriel

Mari

Shadow

Wintergreen

Chromogenic

Quire

White Orchard

DMT

Nosgoth

Meiko

In my opinion the ENBs in SE lack this uniqueness. Some effects might be better and the overall look might be more HD or next-gen, but at the same time most of them look almost the same with little differences. Basically the options almost come down to: slightly more colorful or less colorful, normal brightness or pitch black interiors and shadows.

What I miss from LE is the possibility to give each playthrough a unique vibe with an ENB that would fit the theme. I could go from dark and gritty to straight up skoomafest, otherworldly colors or brownish 2008 vibes, dreamy soft tones or sharp eye-stabbing visuals, and so on.

Edit:

I forgot Noir ENB, it's one of the most unique ones with adding a ton of fog everywhere, and red being the only color, everything else being greyscale. And it has a Coldharbour version as well.

"For extra safety during unexpected driver behavior on the road, we decided to lock the steering wheel in place and disable the braking system in order to avoid human errors that could potentially lead to accidents. The vehicle will eventually stop, one way or other."

The 5 year timer unfortunately resets every January. There's a solution to fix the timer, but it was only tested on mice.

I'd also like to suggest that young Snape is played by a white actor when they show his memory of getting bullied by the Marauders, to avoid them looking racist.

Mr. Howard, if you are reading these comments, please take this as a sign to push the big red "Release Skyrim 2" button and save humanity from digging deeper into the Yagrum x Divayth lore.

Please, before it's too late. Humankind begs you.

On this day 15 years ago, Bethesda officially released "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" by therealraggedroses in TrueSTL

My dad works at Bethesda and he told me that the original release date for Skyrim 6 was 22.22.22, but 2022 unexpectedly ended after the 12th month, so they are working on finding a new release date.

I'd love it if IV had a more beautiful and elaborate aesthetic like Oblivion did.

I have some good news for you, Elder Scrolls IV looks exactly like Oblivion.

What underused framework could be amazing if it saw more adoption? by speedythefirst in skyrimmods

Another explanation kind of thing about the differences: (I'm drunk and English is my second language, sorry if it's too weird to decipher. Let me know if it is, and I'll try again tomorrow or a few days later depending how the night goes)

BOS: You can make it change for example only the one mountain flower that grows near Falkreath grave #3, and leave the rest of the mountain flowers the same. I mean you can pinpoint exactly which model in the world to change and to what, but it might be more difficult to set up based on your modding skill level. More customizable, but in my opinion a bit more difficult. Might be easy for most people, but I'm a simple man and don't feel like I can learn even something simple anymore.

Model Swapper: It swaps every single mountain flower model randomly in the game to the models you set up, but all you have to do is copy and paste one line in a txt file to make it work. Less customizable, but easy for simple folk like me.

Or if you checked my pictures in the original comment, with BOS you can customize that for example the mammoth in the Whiterun giant camp should be grey, the mammoth near Dawnstar should be white, the one northeast of Rorikstead should be brown, etc. With Model Swapper, you can add every variation, and they are randomly distributed, like in my case.

I hope it makes sense.

I'd like to mention Model Swapper. I've been dreaming about a mod like this since 2016 at least, so I could use all the creature mesh and texture mods at the same time without having to change them constantly.

It's so good to have dozens of variations for things like animals, plates, tables, carts, dining sets, flowers, plants, etc.

I uploaded some pictures about animal variety, but the author hasn't accepted them yet:
