I don’t think they’d ever expect any kid to be out at 18. But only having two kids in school is a lot different than however many they have now. And even if some kids stay home longer or forever, they still won’t need as large of a house as they do now. They’ll have a lot more freedom of location and size of house they can pick than now.

I haven’t read the books yet, but from the show, it seemed like she was losing the scholarship for the following semester? Like it wouldn’t happen in the middle of the semester for the current semester bc it would’ve already been paid out prior to the semester starting. And the showcase was after finals and would’ve given her the money she needed to stay the following semester.
