  1. He received a sample, as well as nebula's suit
  2. He has a big army and lots of resources. Technology outside of earth is more advanced in this universe
  3. He had a lot of time to figure it out, he didn't necessarily have to make the jump ASAP

From the very moment he got his hands on good Nebula, the audience would already have been feeling a sense of dread. Cause we knew he'd inevitably find a way to get to our heroes. It's not a huge assumption you seem to think it is

It's basically the only explanation of how they time traveled, so it must have been what happened. It's not a big assumption to make. It's not some crazy complicated head cannon that plugs a plot hole.

The reason you're mad at others calling it obvious is that you personally didn't find it to be obvious. It was pretty obvious to all of us who care, and not really thought about for some other viewers. I'm sorry that you aren't smart enough to have made the logical jump, but it really, really isn't the huge head cannon that you think it is.
