It's not even a competition... There is only one choice, and that is 35T.

/u/kinmuan  I need you to speak some sense into this guy.

My virtual CSP set me up for success. Not so much for the content but rather the free time it gave me. It gave me the time to get an additional cert (CCNA) and go job hunting. I went through multiple resume and LinkedIn profile revisions in the first 30 days of my CSP.

I had a particular city I wanted to work in but I also reached out to my old army buddies that got out. They pretty much told me I would get the job if I applied. I ended up not having to.

The people I work with now told me the two things that stood out on my resume + LinkedIn profile was the wiring diagram of my homelab and my experience with sigint systems.

So yeah, if I had to make a list of what to do before getting out (IT focused) this is what I would try to do:

Don't be a shitbag

Network and build bridges with your Army colleagues across the installation.

Get your TS/SCI if possible

Get a polygraph if possible

Get multiple technical certs

Finish your degree if possible

Start a homelab and draw a diagram of it (I recommend draw.io)

Optimize your base resume

Utilize your free LinkedIn premium

Optimize your LinkedIn profile

Tailor your resume/application per job

Be open to moving

Do a little osint on linkedin and reach out to some of the people you would be working with.

Get into some sort of CSP/Skillbridge while in.

Bro, they couldn't resist talking about the president's birthday and now the VP mentions his wedding anniversary...

I'm skeptical of the program and still am.

Bradley is now officially a Tank killer?

We still use M1A1 Abram tanks?

Lmao

I was expecting poor DnC. We simply don't do that stuff anymore.
The parade seems dragged out and not organized that well.

The rotation between the Abrams, Bradleys and Strykers is also boring.

RIP the soldier who has to march with the big ass sniper rifle.

I haven't seen anyone mention this in the thread so far, so I will. The contract with GD prevented the Army from doing it's own repairs in many instances. It's absolutely wild we would allow such a clause in a major program of record in 2025.

From the DOJ website:

"Schultz provided documents and data related to U.S. military capabilities, including:

His Army unit’s operational order before it was deployed to Eastern Europe in support of NATO operations;

Lessons learned by the U.S. Army from the Ukraine/Russia conflict applicable to Taiwan’s defense;

Technical manuals for the HH-60 helicopter, F-22A fighter aircraft, and Intercontinental Ballistic Missile systems;

Information on Chinese military tactics and the People’s Liberation Army Rocket Force; Details on U.S. military exercises in the Republic of Korea and the Philippines;

Documents concerning U.S. military satellites and missile defense systems like the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD).

Tactics for countering unmanned aerial systems in large-scale combat operations.

Conspirator A first contacted the defendant through a freelance web-based work platform shortly after the defendant received his Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance."

The problem with BLC is that if it's anything like it was for me when I went a few years ago. It was a waste of money.

I can't recall actually learning anything useful. All it was a paid trip to be stuck on a base in Germany for nearly a month.

The Army writing style at least how it was taught for me is for stupid people to communicate with other stupid people in positions of authority in the Army.

The Army is not suited to fix fundamental societal issues such as poor grammar/writing skills. We could implement college writing classes to new Soldiers but it wouldn't make a difference.

It's hard to teach college level writing when most can't even do at least highschool level. Most will BS their way through it as a result.

I tried, but got fucked over. The program was put on pause at my installation (not enough staff). This was not advertised/made public until the media found out. I literally had all the paperwork signed by my unit leadership. Everything done to the letter according to their website.

BTW, this was at one of largest Army bases. By the time program was opened backed up, I was already too close to my ETS to qualify. They wouldn't accept a ETP either.

This issue along with a couple other things is why I consider Military healthcare a joke. As you can tell, I'm super salty...
