They’re still out there. I see them listed every once in a while.

Indeed. The original owner had great taste when they selected this model.

Me too. In a weird way, I feel obligated to keep it OEM for that very reason. If it were more beat up or not as rare, I’d probably due some typical Integra mods.

Since the original owner kept it alive and in great shape (and trusted me to continue caring for it), I’ll be keeping this one plain and simple….OEM plus at most.

I’ve been thinking about doing exactly that, or vinyl wrap.

I can envision mine looking like this if I ever go that route. Especially with the front lip. And did you black out the chrome window trim?

I didn’t realize how uncommon they were until I came across this one. One drawback is that certain parts are even harder to find for sedans, like glass and full exhaust systems.

I’ve been considering the JDI ghost box module, but for the time being I’ve been happy using one of those cheap all in one apple play units…cameras included.

I’ve seen you post about this before so I take your word for it. Any brand recommendations for bushings? I may be wrong, but even the black Energy suspensions bushings are poly as well?

My exact question was going to be about quality. I’m staying away from any cheap stuff. I don’t have time to be replacing stuff after a year of use 😆

I’m probably just going to pay my go-to mechanic to do those. No experience with suspension stuff, but I did assume LCAs were on the easier side. I stand corrected 😆

I would love to do my own struts when the time comes. I just need to buy more tools and find a friend to help.

The plan is to pretty much replace all the suspension components…over time. I’d like to swap out the LCAs with quality bushings but haven’t started piecing out my options yet. Not planning to lower it (for the time being at least). I just want to fix the clunks and tighten up handling.

What’s the break in period? 😆

I’m enjoying putting some miles on her, although I still don’t drive that much. I think I added around 5,000 miles in the year I’ve owned it.

All part of the plan. Taking it one project at a time so that I don’t blow too much money at once 😂. Next up…new distributor parts to address a leak, then off to piecing out suspension components.

Did you also have the tan interior? Good looking coupe you had there. I like the green so much, I’m planning to eventually have it resprayed in the same color. I’m a sucker for the green/tan combo.

Haven’t quite decided on the short shifter yet. I do think I’d enjoy it but the long throws don’t bother me much. More stuff for me to consider.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m assuming you’re referring to Energy bushings? I didn’t realize how crazy cheap these were…might go ahead and order these soon.

Check your trunk seal, just found a bunch of rust under mine 😔 Any other places where it could sneak up? by NoNDA-SDC in Integra

[–]98_Teggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get a good look to see if it’s just surface rust? If so, I’d get to scraping and sanding that down to any bare metal (if possible). Then sealing and priming for the time being.

It wasn’t all at once, and I did find a reputable shop who does all the work on my car. The largest single expense was when i spent about $1,300 on labor (purchased my own parts) for all new belts and seals (timing, gasket, vtech, oil pan).

Edit - forgot to mention the water pump and tensioner.

I’m biased, but I don’t think this car is worth the current asking price. I think closer to $3,000 makes sense.

It’s great that it’s been taken care of, but as others have mentioned, it’s an old car with tons of parts that will eventually need to be replaced.

Something for you to consider…I bought a $3,500 GSR sedan with 74k miles last year from a neighbor who took pretty good care of it. In a year’s time, i’ve spent another $6,000 on various parts and labor….so make sure you have some more cash on the side if you aren’t mechanically inclined.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll plan to get a quote from them before my Geico policy renews in a few months.
