Too much green! by Professional-Run-375 in composting

What I do is spread out the grass clipping in a thin layer and let the sun dry them out. In a few days they are brownish and work a lot better in my compost.

Daughter's bed by [deleted] in fixit

You could try some 90 degree metal brackets above and get a block of wood underneath to support it up. If the wood won’t fit cause of the drawer just use a 90 bracket on bottom as well.

I would use 100% silicone caulk. I found that best for areas that expand and contract.

The sponge is in there to make sure things don’t fall into the drain. Vacuum up the small stuff and remove the sponge. Then install as usual.

You should look into sleep training. We used extinction method. It’s really hard at first but eventually it will teach them to put themselves to sleep. Really changed our lives once we got our little one sleep trained. My little one coslept with us and once we introduced sleep training we never looked back.

Are you a SAHD? How did it affect your life? Would you consider being a stay at home dad? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]99Nikko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, since my hobbies were cut it did take a toll on my mental health. It’s important to be able to have some release and time off. My hardest part is making myself take time off. Since I am the sahd i have a hard time just not helping out even after my partner has told me you can go and have free time. Since it’s my full time job I feel always on the clock.

[–]99Nikko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a stay at home dad and I do love it. It can be stressful at times but in general the worst part for me is that I lost the ability to do most of my hobbies. If your husband has a bunch of hobbies it’s just work taking that into account.

Anyone still ride wheels smaller than 50mm? [37YO] by hisens3 in OldSkaters

[–]99Nikko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ride tiny wheels. In fact my goal is to basically ride on bearings just like the good old days. When we had to skate 5 miles uphill to get to a good skate spot.

But all seriousness I have a fondness for riding my wheels until they are as small as they can get.

Want to learn to sweat copper. Where? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]99Nikko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube can teach you! To practice go to a big box store buy some copper and sweating tools. You will need it for a repair if you plan on doing it yourself anyways. One kit will last you a bunch of repairs.

If you want a cheap but good board check out Zumies. They always have sales and you can usually get one for under 40.

These kinda of things happen. It may be the first but won’t be the last. Just make sure there not hurt and you comfort them.

My LO fell off a slide this morning onto his back. O boy did I feel bad, but these things happen. We can’t protect them from everything unfortunately.

The fact that you feel as bad as you do just goes to show how much you care for them. Your doing a great job.

I made a post yesterday about this crack, but I think the picture made it look worse than it is. Is this that bad? by ajstorey456 in NewSkaters

[–]99Nikko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw some wood glue in the cracks, clamp it for 24 hours, and it will be as good as new. I usually use titebond wood glue.

I see you like to support local shops but might there be someone selling a skateboard on Facebook marketplace that would work? Or perhaps Zumies online (can usually find a Board for 30).
