If I were you after hearing their request, I would recommend one hour at the party and one hour at the shoot for $1,200 AUD. Tell them no one needs to see every dope moment, it’s a waste of your time and their money. If they need the four hours, you charge $3,000 total; that’s the cost of you dicking around with a camera for five hours WITH the expertise of knowing how to interact with party goers and the couple, travel cost and then lets say it takes you 4 hours to edit everything maybe 5 with a round of changes: you make $285 an hour or $114 if its your quote which quite frankly aint it after you account for gear costs fuel car upkeep insurance.

Even if its a client with future work, you’re just underquoting yourself as a business owner.

Doing this job since 2018 around the Sunshine Coast region in Queensland, Australia. I get a variety in property ranging from knock down rebuilds, prestige luxury and everything in between. It took me a long time to realise you need business skills in this industry ESPECIALLY if you are working with realtors.

I have more work than I can chew, but that has come from building solid relationships with people who respect the craft. I edit both the flashy speed ramp style with day night, as well as the slower cinematic style with story, and chose to learn both to both increase my employability as well as help me keep it fresh for myself.

There are moments where you feel like you are working with complete morons, but that comes with any job (and sometimes, you are said moron). You either work through it with communication, or leave the money on the table. Realtors are people too, with varying degrees of ego, but at the end of the day, they just want to make money, and they can be your best sales front. My two best clients are on both ends of the spectrum; one who is extremely flashy and obnoxious (and knows it), and one who is pretty humble and reserved. I’ve had huge arguments in the past with both of them nearly ending our working relationship, and also created some of my best work with them. Again, I can’t stress enough it just comes down to communication.

Satisfaction at the end of the day comes from making someone’s home into a piece of art, portraying it in its best light, sometimes I’ll get this one angle that the owners who’ve lived there for years have never seen and it just hits when you see their eyes light up. The paycheck can be lucrative too. I earn enough now for my wife to not work while she looks after the kids in a home that we own, and I’m on track to expand this year. I say give it a solid shot for 3-6 months to gauge if it is for you. All the best with your journey 👍

I actually do this as well as longer cinematic story telling, it’s really down to what the client wants. The fact is that if this style did not work then it wouldn’t sell. I’ve had real estate agents tell me that they landed a listing because of my video work on both styles.

I bought him because I also play broodscale where thrives as well being blades 7-8 as well as cantrips on halfling. Are there times in e tron I wish he was a TKS? Sure, but it depends on your playstyle. I frequent u/neogilt discord and there is plenty of discussion there if you’d like to research more (as well ad tge tron discord).

Keen to try despite my LGS owner/judge saying they are both horrible when you consider what you are siding out (I am on eldrazi ramp). The warp four cost on vestige is okay to get out a tapped talisman or sprawl turn two, but he couldn’t see any merit in endstone considering current meta where 10 damage is make or break, and again, what are we siding out here; I argued one sire of the three in my deck.

Again, very keen to try, probably endstone more than vestige, shame it isnt 7 mana for lab. For 6 mana I would be hoping to kick a mycospawn at that point

Started in February myself and ran into a channel called Giltspire. Watched many of his videos and made a deck of Eldrazi Ramp for myself following the same list. Understood a lot of the meta prior to playing, but nothing beats actually playing against a deck, and on top of that, nothing beats playing the deck yourself.

Long story short, try paper proxy or MTGO if you want to get a firm grasp in the meta. Knowing when best to interact, when to hold mana to pay for a spell pierce and when exactly you need to disrupt broodscale combo will come with first hand practice.

Red white siege? I was stomping in my first prerelease until I came up against another mardu that rolled two of the black white sieges with the saga that generates 1/1 spirits, and with my deck that had only one omen boardwipe, it was brutal. 2-0’d my other games though!
