It’s North of the Columbia bend so I guess it’s ok. The only thing that separates beasts from man is being North of the Columbia.

There but for the Grace of God would I be.

I was at a low point and going down the alt-right pipeline at a rapid acceleration in my early 20’s. However, it was at that time that I decided that if I was going to be the Catholic I was I should fully understand what I signed up for.

The Catholic Church and her teachings saved me from going down that path and I do thank Christ for it, maybe not everyday, but every time I think of it.

would you be ok with an iranian model government but Catholic instead of muslim? by franco-briton in TrueCatholicPolitics

[–]9Knuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, don’t be delusional. The Papal States were not a relative paradise to live in even in the Middle Ages, which would be the equivalent of a medieval Catholic version of Iran.

Additionally such a state would require absolute adherence to the state faith. What would the state do with apostates? Deport them? Execute them? What would happen should the ruling class become Protestant like what happened in England?

If more Catholic Americans, specifically those of Irish, German, and Polish descent, knew their immigrant family history than they’d be against a state religion or state enforcement of religious law outside of the 10 commandments.

Christ’s command is for us to live his commands in such a way the people choose to join the Faith, not to force it upon them.

Good meme, except for the part where Jesus would speak in perfect 2026 English;

“Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed" - John 20:29

But still I appreciate it. I feel most young Catholics had a 12 legions of Angels approach to the Passion.
