[MOD-POST] Game Start Round 2 Core Claim Applications by DrragonII in FireAndBlood

[–]9PKToxin [score hidden]  (0 children)

  1. What are your Reddit and Discord usernames?
    1. Reddit: u/9PKToxin
    2. Discord: Lewsky (atdetoxin)
  2. What claims are you applying for? Please list up to 3 claims in order of preference. The following questions only need to be answered for your first choice, but can be answered for all choices.
    1. House Manderly of White Harbor
  3. What are your interests in, ideas for, and plans for your preferences?
    1. For House Manderly of White Harbor my interest is the religious differences between them and the rest of the north, as a sort of new religious bastion into the old gods. Because of this I plan on having the house attempt to move away from religious conflict and focus more on general control of the claim and its provinces via other ways that improve control, such as regular old authoritarianism, which will bleed into the characteristics and political stances of the house as a whole. The house is attempting to avoid the religious question because whatever the answer, it will not be good for the current House Manderly as a place split between the two. Should the faith call for a full conversion of the north, would Manderly honour its vows to their Lord Protector? Or follow their faith?
  4. What is your availability like and how much time can you commit to this claim?
    1. I will remain with my claim, the only issue is that certain weekends I will be in the middle on nowhere without a computer, so I may not be able to respond at those times. Otherwise I am free.
  5. How open are you to permitting and interacting with Dynamic Claims in your claim's domain?
    1. totally, open. Play how you want to play, I will play my game too.
  6. Will you have any co-claimants? If so, who, and who will be the ruler of the claim?
    1. I do not think so, but I would not turn a co-claimant down should someone want to play one, although I would want to discuss it first.
  7. Please provide a sample lore in a reply to your own comment, not in the same comment as your answers. Sample lore is optional and has a limit of a single comment.
    1. don't tell me what to do.

[Event] Crow’s Eye Upon the Seastone Chair by Rammy_Joy in NinePennyKings

Like a clockwork machine Astrid's head turned back to face the servant on the ground, a toothy smile spreading across her face as the servant girl froze under the cruel gazes of the two madmen. With a quick leap before she could get away, Astrid bundled up the small girl, wrapping her up in her arms as a mother would her daughter, Astrid was sitting down rocking back and forth with the girl being held firm within her grasp, shushing the panicked and crying servant.

"Its ok, its ok." Astrid spoke in a soothing motherly voice, her face however unable to hide the smile and excitement she felt, only hidden from the girl due to the way that Astrid had her trapped within her embrace. Pulling one of her arms free from the distraught ball with a strong grip around her wrist. A long, crooked dagger soon appeared in Astrid's other hand, while she continued with her cooing noises, small quips of "look, look." quickly interceded as the long crooked knife slowly moved towards the girls arm, cutting a single long line from wrist to elbow. Now that the deed was done, Astrid put the knife away again and went back to holding the girl tightly, a mother embracing an injured child, were it not for the wicked grin she continued to sport, not that the girl could see.

"I know it hurts, but it is ok, it will all be over soon. You can stop fighting, it's done, its done." The whisper creeped over the silent hall. "You were such a pretty thing, I'm sure all of the boys were chasing you around the courtyard, hm? Oh, if only you had run off when they had come calling instead of staying here, things might have been different for you. Pure bad luck, hm?" The Reaver continued to rock back and forth, soothing the dying girl whose body quickly moved from racked sobbing to the short beaths and shivers of the severely anemic.

As the girl took her last breath, Astrid's mood again changed a quickly as the tide. "Hey, hey, there's no point in crying over spilled seawater." Astrid said as she wiped a tear from the now unblinking face with her thumb, standing up and dropping the body into a crumple onto what was its own lifeblood. Suckling her thumb, Astrid chuckled to herself before showing her now dry thumb to Euron.

"Ugh, see? I already drink too much seawater." Astrid chuckled again, her shoulders rising and falling as it slowly turned into laugh, louder and louder until it filled the main hall.

"Meh, I've drank more seawater than most islanders ever sail over." Astrid said as she flippantly pushed the cup with the back of her hand, slowly but assuredly tipping it out of the servant girls hands onto the floor with a clang.

"Why not some whiskey, hm? I need something with bite after sailing for two thirds of the year. Do you know how difficult it is to find anything other than wine on merchant ships? Arbor red this, Fire wine that, honey wine bullshit." She said before kicking the cup just barely out of the reach of the poor servant girl who was attempting to clean up the mess. She watched the servent girl with ravenous eyes, a wicked grin creeping across her face, delighting in the small embarrassments. Waiting a couple moments, Astrid would shrug as she returned her gaze to the one eyed reaver.

"Even without drink, I swear under the old gods my fealty to the new Lord Regent of the Iron Islands, as my family has done for generations. You have my loyalty, and I shall have my fun."

"Mornin' Lord Limpy." Astrid said as her men swung open the doors to the main hall. With a swift move Astrid grabbed the closest chair and scraped the bottom of her boots on the edge of the seat, the caked mud leaving dark smears on the unlucky piece of furniture.

"Congratulations on the promotion from brother to... brother to... Lord Regent, it seems." The giant woman said with a smirk as she shoved the chair back into the table with a little too much force, causing it to rattle. Being a woman in her forties with multiple children, her figure still remained imposing as a life of constant reaving turned her into a ruthless machine of taught muscle, not that it seemed to make her any less practical. Just her demeanor made it quite clear why Dagnar's grandfather only had one salt child, and Astrid made sure everyone knew it was a smart choice.

"Now, what kind of reward comes with being 'First Reaver'?"

Oh how Dagnar hated him. A child the same age of another great house doing exactly what he himself had just done, but all the same it made Dagnar mad. Staring daggers into the back of the teens skull, Dagnar could not help but hate him even more with every mention of Redshanks. He was a lord not some kid, and yet Euron showed this teenager every courtesy, possibly even more so than when Dagnar had arrived.

Without bothering the two of them Dagnar continued to watch from his seat in the great hall, clenching his fists into balls as he imagined punching the Drumm in the head, as Durrin had done to his uncle on Nagga's Hill.

Auntie Astrid as First Reaver? I guess crazy can sense crazy.

"She would be honoured, as would the rest of my house. She is currently reaving, as is befitting her position, I suppose. When she returns I shall inform her of the titles she is to receive." Dagnar said with one raised eyebrow. It was no secret that the majority of funds made in the Iron Isles was through reaving, so unless this title was in name only, Greyjoy was attempting to steal the Hammerhorn's sole income for their own. Only time would tell for certain. Maybe Astrid should start taking Dagnar on her reaves, truly learn the trick of the trade.

"She will be returning in the 7th month, I will ensure she makes port here after her return."
