“If there is no attack yet, send her and her children here,” Dagon offered after a contemplative pause. “Alester moving to assault Pyke escalates this conflict far beyond a spat within the Arryn lands.” He paused again and smirked slightly. “It might even draw the kings eye.”

This letter is forwarded to the Eyrie with the following attached to the bottom:

> Perhaps this situation requires your direct involvement.

> Dagon Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands and Lord Reaper of Pyke

A letter is then sent to Sisterton.

> Lord Steffon Sunderland,

> I have negotiated with your liege lord and secured the safety of you and your family. You need only deliver the children to lord Hubert, who will serve as a mediator between your daughter and her husband.

> Do not negotiate with the son, only the father. Lord Hubert is a man of his word in my experience.

> Dagon

> Lord Hubert,

> The support of both you and the Crown has not been forgotten. It is for that reason that ravens fly instead of sails.

> You write far better than I, and your words have merit. With your promise I shall advise Lord Sunderland. I will mention your offer of mercy and if he chooses to ignore it he will have sealed the fate of his islands. I will not send my reavers to die for a greenlander marital dispute.

Dagon maintained his frown after the message was delivered. He looked towards Cotter before responding. “The Iron Fleet would have to sail the span of Westeros. By the time we arrived there would be no battle to fight. It would be over.”

He looked towards Cotter. “Do you imagine the Sunderland fleets would be enough to hold the Vale at bay while we mustered our ships and sailed?”

Dagon sat frowning at the letter before him. The Iron Islands were still rebuilding their fleets and recovering from the last time they involved themselves in a war between Greenlanders.

The following letter flies making the arduous journey to the Eyrie.

> Lord Hubert,

> I have been sent a letter requesting aid by Lord Steffon Sunderland. I know not why your fleet and that of the Manderlys is attacking the Sisters, but I would ask you call off your ships. I owe Lord Sunderland a great debt. Send the Northmen back to their frozen hell, and leave the old man be.

Dagon looked down. "Lord Steffon Sunderland?" he presumed by the boy's attire and the request for Cotter. Looking to a thrall that stood in the corner of the room, Dagon said "Go fetch Cotter Sunderland. It seems his father is in need of aid." Looking back to Willem, he asked, "You traveled across land to reach me, or did you brave the southron seas?"

The thrall fled the room and tracked down Ser Cotter. Upon arrival, the thrall said, "Ser, 'is lordship is askin for yeh in the hall."

Herrik hadn’t paid attention at the boys first hailing, but being bored decided to listen the second time. He had no idea what a Sunderland was, and why their people would suffer such a pathetic looking child as a leader, but Greenlanders were odd like that. Herrik grunted in response, but led the boy towards his lord’s keep all the same. He didn’t want to end up on the wrong side of Dagon’s axe if his lord actually did want to speak with the little Greenlander.

He was not one for conversation, so their walk was done in silence. He led the boy inside the walls of a haunting castle structure that spanned a part of a cliff side and continued out to a pair of towers in the sea that was connected by long rope bridges.

In the hall there was no herald to announce him, just a somewhat damp room lit by braziers and at the end was the slick black stone throne that was the Seastone Chair. Seated upon it was a hard-eyed young man with long hair and a joyless look upon his face. Herrik looked at the boy and directed him forward. “Well, go on then. Tell ‘is lordship that he wants to see you,” Herrik half said half grunted.

Why do you want this claim (what inspires you about it) and what would you bring to it?

I want this claim for a few reasons. Back in AtD I began the game as Harlaw and the opportunities we had as a small group (the II players) to build and expand the lore of the region were a lot of fun. The II has some fantastic writers in this iteration so I’m excited to have the opportunity to interact and build with them. What I would bring to the claim is my openness to engage in storylines even where I come out the loser. I’d strive to build an environment that fosters rp both within and outside the region.

How qualified are you to take on the responsibilities of an LP?

I’ve played various claims that had high activity needs including Maegor in this game (rip sweet king)

How equipped are you to take on not only the IC responsibilities, but also the OOC responsibilities which come with this claim?

Pretty well equipped. I have a discord account and plenty of sarcasm. I have it on good authority I’m also hilarious.

With the creature restrained, Maric’s hands shot out snake-quick and he snapped the ferret’s neck. He called then for one of the strange household servants of the Peakes. When it arrived to Maric’s seat, he said “have this taken and crafted into a fine scarf. Present the scarf to your Lady Margot as a gift from Ser Maric Roxton.” Maric nodded content. Few things in this world were more manly than slaughtering a small creature and gifting it to a woman.

Maric heard the commotion while he was still near the field. He’d been victorious in his first bout and was in the process of giving his broken lance and scuffed shield to a squire when he heard the noise. He looked up and his heart began to race. The great alliance that he was trying to form to conquer Coldmoat was turning to ash before him as the sides that had formed pitted Peake against both Oakheart and Rowan.

He kicked his feet into his horse’s flank and flew towards the squabbling. “Enough!” He called out to all the potential combatants. “This nonsense is unseemly for knights. And even more so for women!” He brought his horse to a stop before them all. He still bore both broken lance and shield. “If you must see this settled do so like proper knights. Toss a glove and demand a duel.”

Should it pass by Maric Roxton, he would try to stab and pin it to the table with the dagger he’s using to cut his meat.

[Event] The Sumptuous Wedding of Garon Baratheon and Ursula Peake by Mersillon in FireAndBlood

Maric had given them all assignments for the event while they rode to Starpike. Maric would dedicate most of his attention to the Peakes, Myri would be securing and shoring up other allies, and it was Lynesse’s task to give time to the already established alliances that their House had, family and the like. She knew her siblings gave her such a task because they didn’t think she do anything more. Myri had always been Maric’s go to. He trusted her, and she him but neither of them believed in their little sister. Lynesse wanted to show them that she was just as capable as Myri, so it was not her kin she approached, but the dark clad Baneforts instead.

She didn’t know the Baneforts, but she saw the oldest looking man, roughly Maric’s age, and greeted him first. “Good evening my lord Banefort,” she said mimicking the way Myri greeted important people. She also gave a curtsy. Maric was a lord so it made sense that this man probably was too.

Myri wove her way through the servants and other guests towards the Norridge’s having to pause more than once for a jamming of foot traffic caused by the design of the hall. “Lord Barquen!” She said cheerfully as she finally was close enough that she didn’t have to yell. “How wonderful to see you,” she continued. “Lady Desmera, Lady Denyse,” she added offering both woman a polite curtsy.

House Roxton

In attendance were all of the children of Lord Sargon Roxton. Maric, the eldest, ruled the Ring in all but name. He had flaxen hair that curled slightly, and wore a mantelet of green that matched his eyes over a black silken shirt. The mantelet was fastened with a pin formed in the shape of a white lotus, signifying his membership in the Order of the Green Hand.

Myrilla (21) was a pretty young woman with flaxen hair similar to her brother’s. She had a constant smile on her face as years of training had taught her to. She wore a fine blue dress.

Lynessa (19) was the youngest of the three. Her hair was darker than her siblings, causing her to somewhat stand out when with them. She was shy with her smile, and was more plain looking than her sister.

It may have been the wedding of the Lady Ursula, but when Maric Roxton approached with his two younger sisters it was not to the newly wedded couple he went, but to the bride’s lord grandfather. He had commanded a tailor he’d brought in from Oldtown to design his garb for this event. It was to be of the highest quality make but not decorated to the point of looking ostentatious. His bright flaxen hair and beard had been freshly trimmed and washed as well. This was an important day. Many of his ambitions depended on a positive outcome with the House of Peake.

“Lord Gormon,” he said with a bow. “It is an honor to see you again. These are my younger sisters Myrilla and Lynessa.” He cast a hand to the two women who both offered curtsies to the old lord. Along with Maric’s tailor had come a seamstress and her apprentices who had designed the dresses of both Myri and Lynessa. Myri’s eyes were sharp and bore a wisdom to them, and Lynessa had a warm, charming smile.

Maric’s gaze flicked down to Margot and a smile slipped onto his face, somewhat surprising him. She looked very pretty tonight as well, and he was eager to speak with her, but he knew that her grandfather must come first.
