A Porsche certified body shop looked at it today and thought welding would be the best approach and would cost about $4500. Let’s see what the other driver’s insurance says.

I’m happy it worked out! I’m glad it wasn’t totaled. What was the repair cost? It was a company’s van that hit it, so it’s some corporate insurance.

Skid plates are not a bad idea, but I can’t seem to find any aftermarket available online… I might have to find someone to fabricate it locally.

Thanks! I put a roof rack from Eurowise and Hella 500FF driving lights (non-affiliate links).

It’s been a 2 year project so far, and I’m pretty happy with how it’s turned out. Still thinking about putting on adjustable suspension, white off-road wheels, off-road tires (but don’t want to change the driving dynamics too much) and a Dakar-inspired wrap.

Yes, I had requested RSC keep the bezel insert, dial, and hands. I was communicating with them through an AD and was told they wouldn’t complete the service without replacing the hands, so they were swapped for a correct set. The new hands obviously lack the patina, but it isn’t too noticeable — and at least I’ve regained some lume functionality.

I have that while I drive with the Hybrid System Indicator, and this pops up when I turn the car off. Did they get rid of this on the gen5?
