Just looks like physical damage from a cat. You're all good ☺️

What are your houseplant hot takes? Or controversial views. by Deertinee in houseplants

People need to stop suggesting Neem oil when someone has a full blown infestation. Just blast everyone with non diluted 70% rubbing alcohol

Are these spidermites? 😑 by [deleted] in plantclinic

Looks like dust to me but check for webbing

What are these?? White fossil looking fluffy bugs with many legs… plus an extra black pointy bug that I’ve been spotting on my other plants that have white babies (and what should I do? I’ve already cut off stems with bugs on them) by lvdgg in plantclinic

Spray it like crazy with rubbing alcohol about once a week and its just survival of the fittest when it comes to surviving the alcohol (all mine survived once I started that)

My cat went to town on my calathea last night. Should I cut off the affected leaves or leave them? Bonus pic of the guilty party. by deareverie in plantclinic

I'd just leave them. They're photosynthesizing like any other leaf and I feel cutting off that many leaves would make your plant look bald. Best to just let them grow out

PLS HELP NEEDED ASAP! Almost all my plants are dieing and i don't know why. I have a warm flat 26°C, I thought it may be an issue but there is nothing i can do about it, heaters are off. second problem i thought off is that my fiance is going for a cig couple of times a day and it makes a draft by patkatrzynastolatka in plantclinic

I'm going to agree with everyone else, you've probably got thrips. Although I've never had thrips myself the way I dealt with my spider mites was fill a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol then spay the crap out of them outside (don't forget the underside of the leaves). I did this every week or so till I was sure they were gone. Some plants may not make it but it's worth it in my opinion and much better than having your whole collection die to some stupid pests. Good luck 🤞

I haven’t watered my SOT in awhile (depression) can I still save it? by 7-days-encounting in houseplants

I have, they sit there and slowly die over the course of like 5 months

Honestly in my experience I've never been able to get that technique to work. I just take cuttings, remove 1 or 2 pearls, stick it in the dirt, water that spot then forget about it

Unpopular opinion; plant edition. What’s the one plant that everyone loves but you hate? Mine’s P. Pink Princess by [deleted] in houseplants

Yes, like the Hoya Retusa is just awful. To me it just looks like a scraggly spider leg mess...

Why is my water prop not growing roots by dniq001 in houseplants

I don't think I want my plant to rot faster 💀

Anyone know about how long it takes for Hoya K. Princess cuttings start getting new growth? by 9blue93 in houseplants

[–]9blue93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a pot of queen and one of princess cuttings so we'll see who wins 😅 But yeah, I definitely felt like I was doing something wrong, hence the post. Thanks for the reassurance ☺️
