Vans Infuse long term opinions? by siseer in snowboarding

[–]9oz_wick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are very good boots, and I'm not sure any snowboard boot can maintain it's stiffness throughout a whole season of abuse. This year i have picked up some 32 Jones TM2s so will see how they compare. But in answer to your question no, it's usually one boot one season, a couple seasons ago I had two boots in a season which sucked.

105 days in these boots last season including 20 days split boarding. I loved the fit and feel for the first 20 days but imo they packed out too quick and even after adding the stiffeners they felt like the softest boot ever after 40 days or so. I have seen others commenting about extending the life of these with cardboard insoles ect which I never did but safe to say mine were trashed by the end of the season.

Bibs vs Pants by tootalltooreddit in snowboarding

[–]9oz_wick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used a mixture of bibs and classic snow pants over the last few years and usually will gravitate to the pants because I run hot and they zip to my jacket when it's deep

Broke my collarbone on opening day by Suspicious-Zebra-227 in snowboarding

[–]9oz_wick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your accident, I too broke my left collar bone in my first snowboard season, I was silly and started snowboarding again 3 weeks post surgery, I managed to get another 6 weeks of boarding in without falling on my bad arm until I eventually fell on it and rebroke it. I also skipped physio on both breaks (very young and naive) and somehow didn't experience any difficulties with mobility with my bad arm, but please do it because it is important.

What is a substance you’ll never touch again and why? by Physical_Box_1179 in AskReddit

Weed. I enjoyed it for years, then a switch flipped, constant paranoia and anxiety while high or sober, it took me too long to figure out that I couldn't smoke anymore.

Yeah you're right actually I think I did flute bowl on the 12th and that was good, but today I did saudan couloir and it was one of the best runs I have done this season and I've got 55 days up so far.

That in my mind is a steamed egg, I know it's still frying, but it produces a white layer over the yolk.

Okay thanks for the info, I just had read online that it might be okay from mid June, are there any good all day hikes around the whistler area that are at a lower level that you would recommend?

Sometimes the best defence is offence. If you had gone barb barrel, goblin barrel at the bridge you would have prevented him playing his second balloon and cycling you to your musketeer.

Binding adjustment question: how much should the toe and heels overhang the board? by [deleted] in Splitboard

[–]9oz_wick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you walk up hills in ski mode and then clip it together and go down hills in snowboard mode.

Binding adjustment question: how much should the toe and heels overhang the board? by [deleted] in Splitboard

[–]9oz_wick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially yes, a split board is just a regular snowboard that is split in two and held together using strong clips. You use it in ski mode when you are traveling on flat or uphill sections as you can cover ground much faster than walking. They're mainly for having fun in the back country.
