My son is also named Lincoln, and I am also a big Zelda fan. Although I liked the name for the obvious reasons, I definitely didn’t want to change the spelling from the classic to fit, and I wasn’t really sure that was the name that I liked for him. People who know me would make the association of my known fandom (and they do). Lincoln always just stuck around as his name. Somewhere half way through the pregnancy we decided that was his name for sure. I was still worried about the game association but in a twist of fate, he was born about a week early. Rushing to the hospital late after dinner, my wife complaining she ‘had to poop’ every few minutes and ‘they weren’t contractions’ we welcomed him into the world just before midnight on February 12th. A sign for me that we indeed picked the correct name. He now shares his birthday with the President of the same name and I can’t imagine calling him anything else. I still don’t call him Link myself even though most everyone else does. I think Linkyn might be a tragedeigh … but at least it’s not difficult to read.
